I'm not in the US and haven't seen the show, but I followed a link to the page on NBC's website, and it's all about weight loss. *DRAMATIC, EXASPERATED SIGH*

The website is about weight loss. The show itself isn't all that positive about weight loss. Methinks ABC thought it was too subversive to have a show wherein the main character says, "I'm down with my fat. My fat and I are bff," was just too damn subversive.

I don't know if it was inspiring. It was sort of depressing, since the first week, one of the kids goes home with a more obvious eating disorder, bulimia, but the other kids stay to be abused by a councilor who acts like Jillian Michaels. But what it does do is question the inherent value in losing weight, which I think is valuable, and the main character does a strip tease in the first five minutes when they demand that she disrobe for the group 'before' photo.

There's an interesting recap on the Fatshionista blog, if you want to get an idea about it before subjecting yourself. I'm not really sure where it's going to go, to be honest, but I'm hopeful.
