Update and stuff
I started mentioning at the end of Jan that we were on an adventure and that I would tell all when I could. Well, that adventure is over, so I can now spill the beans. We had applied for a mortgage with the hopes of being able to get a house that would fit us better. Unfortunately, we couldn't find one in our price range, much to our disappointment. We are basically stuck where we are for the next two years while saranjeuhal finishes up his batchelors degree at OSU.
It's not all bad, we cleared off a HUGE chunk of our CC debt and the rest of it should be gone before winter. Also, it keeps our options open as to when he goes for the grad program. He won't be limited to OSU, but can apply at other Universities across the country. But, we're stuck next to a very busy rail road track (6+ trains a day) as well as inconsiderate neighbors.
The boys - Buddy and Monkey - will have to share a room which means we need to get Buddy a loft bed (its the top bunk of bunk beds with empty space under it so we can put his chest of drawers there and free up that floor space for Monkey's crib/toddler bed). Munchkin would also like one so she can get a desk in her room and thus do her schoolwork upstairs away from the boys.
So, on thursday, Dad and I will be taking a trip to the Bunk and Loft Factory and look at lofts there. We are discussing the possibility to just fake it and make our own since the lofts don't need to be fancy. It would only be straight cuts for the wood. If we bought them from the factory they would be unfinished anyway so I will have to sand, stain, and poliurithane them myself anyway.
On other news, I escaped a hospital stay this past weekend barely. I got a bilateral ear infection and last week my doc gave me a large dose of Augmenten to take - 1000 mg 2x a day. It has wiped me out but it did stop the ear infection eventually. It took til Sunday (5th day of the 10 day script) before I started noticing an improvement in my ears. This came after me having a cold, then a 2 week tummy bug then another cold. So this year has been tough on my health. Jan and Feb was basically a big migraine then the colds and stomach stuff. I would love to actually get some energy so I can do the projects I have planned - like the lofts, I also need to sew Monkey training pants because he's that age already! We also are rethinking the living room. We plan on taking out the big L desk and replacing it with one of the smaller desks we have and also bringing over another chair for more seating in the living room. All of these require energy that I just don't have currently.
Munchkin and Buddy are basically done with school for the year. They finished one level of Language Arts, Science, and History, and two levels of Math by the end of Feb. They both were given the next level of Language Arts and Math which we will begin on in about two weeks. Why in two weeks you ask? Next week they need to take the Ohio Achievement Assessements. Munchkin has three - reading, math and science, while Buddy has two- reading and math. We are reveiwing and taking practice exams this week to prepare them for the tests. Lots of fun while I'm basically passed out from the antibios.
