odi_et_amo53 did it and now I want to too. I already know this is going to be difficult because I'm so damn wordy.

[author's notes] Man, this was hard. I'm also sick today so, bleh! I hope a couple of these are at least enjoyable. O_O
I Want You (She's So Heavy) by The Beatles
Cook pressed himself tighter against David's delectibly fit form and tucked his chin against his cheek.
"I want you so bad," Cook whispered, breath hot on David's temple.
David couldn't help but make a noise that embarrassed him, and he drew in his breath immediately. It was strange how he felt. He had waited a long time for Cook to make the first move because there was no way in heck he was ever going to be so forward, especially since he didn't know how Cook felt, or how he felt really or if he should really just forget the whole thing because gosh this was so wrong. So, so wrong.
Cook's fingers slipped along David's waist and the tips teased his belt as he nuzzled his lips along David's jaw.
"I want you so bad," he repeated. "It's driving me mad."
Lovebug by Jonas Brothers
Cook had sworn off girls for his time on Idol. Hell, he'd sworn off girls for awhile in general, really. And after the drama of Neal's last totally fucked up relationship he was almost ready to swear of girls entirely forever.
Of course, he had meant it in the way people say when they're just totally frustrated with relationships, not this. This was not something he'd planned on at all.
It wasn't that difficult really, avoiding the girls. Some of them he didn't know long enough before they were sent home and the others he became such good friends with there was no way he could be romantic with them. And none of them had really struck him that way anyway. No, David Cook was perfectly fine being himself and playing his music and enjoying his friends right now. That was it.
That was until the other David kept showing up, kept making it to the next rounds. And something struck him about his name-twin. Something indeed. Archie was just so beautiful in every way without even trying that Cook didn't know how anyone could resist falling in love with him.
Who knew his next hit would be like this?
You Can by David Archuleta
David is probably the only seventeen year old who doesn't think about dating very much. Honestly, he doesn't really think about romantic relationships. He's pretty sure he hasn't met anyone who can make him feel the way he does about his family or music -- that deep, exhilerating love that he knows must be what romantic love is like too. He hasn't felt it. Not yet.
David Cook is the nicest rockstar he's ever met. He's kind of rough on the outside and uses rough words sometimes, but on the inside, deep down, David knows Cook is just like him. He's passionate about his music and David can tell by his lyrics that he's got a soft heart with strong emotions on the inside. David admires that incredibly and he kind of thinks he has a little bit of a role model crush on Cook.
When Cook looks up from his guitar to find David watching him, he smiles that David Cook smile and says, "Hey, come tell me what you think of my song."
As he sits, David figures Cook is just like the type of person he'd like to be with one day.
You're A Star by Josie & The Pussycats
David was always anxious when the spotlight was on him. He always felt nervous about saying something ridiculous or acting weird or tripping over his own two feet or something. And he's so embarrassed by himself that he sometimes freezes and tries to avoid telling the truth about himself because dang it, it's so dorky and weird and then there's some things that he definitely can't tell because ironically they'd go against all those other assumptions about him and oh man, he could really work himself up with worry pretty quickly.
And that's when it's a good thing Cook is there to put his palm in the curve of his lower back and push him slightly to encourage him further down the red carpet and dip his mouth close to his ear and whisper, "Be yourself, Archie. I'm proud of you."
End It Good by Drake Bell
The fury pulsing through Cook's veins is unbelievable. He's usually a little more collected, but this is it. If David's going to be like this, then he's going to fight fire with fire. He's going to get mean, and ruthless and tear that little bastard's heart right out of his chest.
The Star-Spangled Banner by Jimi Hendrix
"What is this?" David asks. "I thought you were going to put on some appropriate Independence Day fireworks music?"
"What could be better than this, Archie? Come on! Jimi Hendrix is the rock god to end all rock gods!"
"It sounds like cats fighting in the alleyway. This guy was the best guitar player of his time?"
"Yes!" Cook insists, batting at David's hand which is dangerously close to the power button on the stereo. "You know, he was a left handed guitar player too."
"Sounds like it." David can't manage to hide his grin.
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
Toxic by Britney Spears
David knows this whole thing is wrong. And when he's alone in his room he can act reasonably and be of sound mind and body and fight off those dangerous urges that he's always been warned about. He thinks rationally and it's perfectly within his ability to decide he's going to end this... this thing, whatever it is, with Cook. He can't do this, it's so wrong in an infinite number of ways.
The door to his room opens and he looks up to find his guest striding across the room with confidence, fingers breezing through his hair and that crooked smile sitting perfectly off-center on his face.
"You wanted to talk, Archie?"
"Y-yeah," David stutters. What the heck, his throat is closing up again. Be strong, David. Be strong.
Cook has moved right into David's space and automatically his palms land against David's hips. David's eyes trail along Cook's strong shoulders, and he can't help but let them linger as the tempo of his heart picks up a little.
Cook leans in and softly kisses the corner of David's mouth and hovers close to his face. David licks his lips and forgets what he was going to say.
Bar-ba-sol by David Cook
Cook doesn't handle depression very well. In fact, he can be downright destructive to himself. And this time -- shit, this time he wasn't putting it past himself to do away with the line that always held him back, that always saved him from completely losing himself.
He'd never loved anyone -- no one -- as much as he loved David. And he knew he needed David. Needed him to keep him sane, to keep him positive. He almost needed David just to breathe. But now David was gone. Absolutely gone. And it was Cook's fault. Totally his fault. There was no way to bring him back.
He fingered the empty beer bottle in his hands. The alcohol wasn't doing it anymore.
Wild In The Streets by Bon Jovi
"Cook, this is insane!" David's breath is heavy as he struggles to keep up with Cook.
"Run faster, Arch, they're gonna catch on to us soon enough!"
David clutches at the stitch forming in his chest. It reminds him that he hasn't gone running in at least a week. Then again, he's usually not running for his life, either.
"How do I manage to get into these situations with you?" David feels like his stomach is going to leap out of his mouth at any moment.
"Shut it, Archie, all your jabber is slowing us down!" He grabs David's wrist and tugs harder, his own breathing labored.
The laughter that fills Cook's ears makes him the happiest man on earth.
Poker Face by Lady GaGa
Cook scrunches his face and purses his lips as he looks back at David over his guitar.
"Whatever, Arch, if you're not interested, you're not interested. I'm sorry if I made you feel awkward. I understand if you don't want to talk to me again or whatever."
He shrugs and puts his attention back to his guitar as if the admission of attraction was nothing and it didn't matter at all if David felt the same way in return.
Something about that smug expression makes David want to go back thirty seconds and tell him he likes him too.
