concert was AMAZING!!! it was all brahms (who is amazing) - the tragic overture and the german requiem - both beautiful pieces, and today was brahms' 123rd birthday so it was spectacular. our guest conductor, harry davidson from duke, is one of the kindest people (tom is also on that list, of course) and he was an inspiring and dedicated conductor ( Read more... )

you HAVE to listen to the requiem! you might cry like i did at the end of the concert (then again, maybe i was just really overwhelmed by the concert and sad that the guest conductor is leaving)

We have it on CD, but I've never really listened to it straight through or with any attention. I don't believe myself.
