Puppies Found Dead From Abuse In Abandoned House
Tulsa - Two dogs are doing better after someone used fireworks to set one of them on fire. Police are still searching for the suspects and the bodies of several puppies. NewsChannel 8's Kim Jackson has been tracking down the new developments in this story we first brought you Monday afternoon.
There is a reward being offered to find out who brutally abused the dogs. Police say someone used lighter fluid and fireworks to set one dog and several puppies on fire.
Burn cream covers Melody's wounds after someone used fireworks and lighter fluid to set her on fire.
"The little puppy with the burns is eating real well," says SPCA veterinarian Dr. Connie Wright. "She's off her fluid and she's on a steady regimen of pain medication."
You can't see Amaya's wounds. The vet says she is improving, but has been traumatized after someone put firecrackers in her puppies mouths and set them off. "When she would go out, you could tell she was looking, searching, and I think she was looking for her babies."
Police are still looking, too -- for the puppies and suspects. But, these women are offering reward money. They work together and they've formed Oklahoma Alliance For Animals.
"A girl brought me a print out, on the computer from channel 8," says Jamee Howard. "And we started reading it and just started crying," says Howard.
Sara Lewis was so moved, she wanted to adopt Amaya or Melody.
"It really upset me yesterday when I heard about the dogs," Lewis says. "And I'm willing to do anything I can to help out."
The list grows for adoptive homes for Amaya and Melody... but, they both have healing to do, especially Melody who is scarred for life.
Melody will need surgery in a couple of weeks to help her skin heal. Right now, police need your help in finding out who did this. If you have any information that could help in the investigation, call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS. You can remain anonymous and still earn a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
HOW DARE ANYONE LEAVE THIS BEAUTIFUL BOY OUT TO BE HIT BY A FUCKING CAR!!!!!!
Bentley is such a sweet puppy it is amazing! Someone without a heart abandoned this puppy on the site of the road only for him to be hit by a car. Once he had been hit, animal control was called and came and picked him up.
This boy has been so amazing through everything. He has a fracture in his leg that had already began to heal well on its own, other than that this boy is totally healthy. He sat in the pound very sad, when a volunteer just happened to be there and saw him and fell head over heels for him! He has such a big mushy face.
Bentley came to us very thin but is gaining weight rapidly. We expect him to be fairly large as he has a large build and fairly large paws. Not only is he totally stunning, but he really is an amazing puppy.
Bentley is being fostered with cats and dogs and children, and he loves them all and they all love him. He is so gentle for a puppy, he is not mouthy nor does he exhibit many of the silly puppy behaviors. He is more of a laid back, affectionate, snuggly guy. If this beautiful boy is for you, please submit an application!
Look fruits, animals are better than people... every night I watch the news I lose fucking faith in humanity and can't wait for the day that I have my own house where I will have beautiful pitbulls. Dogs > people. I hope anyone that abuses or kills animals ESPECIALLY DOGS will be chemically BURNT and have fireworks put in THEIR mouth.
