So today I was walking on campus and I saw something that flared my temper and raised my eyebrow, there was a flyer on one of the boards that said "The Sellout v. The FOB - Images of Asian culture, and bringing the two together." I said to myself, "You have to be fucking kidding me ( Read more... )

I think I'm a little bit of both. :D I can't stand these whitewashed asian kids though, they complain too much, and make people think all asians want to be white (which I don't. >:|)
Asian culture has its good points, though. People may be poorer, but they're a lot less greedy/demanding/vindictive. My dad was definitely happier practicing in asia where people actually apprecieated what they did for them.

I've been on the sellout side, and it never really made me all that happy.

ahaha I love your political tangents! :D
Yeah I don't care what religion/race/ethnicity anyone is, really, until they take it too seriously. People need to learn to take interest in their heritage for its own sake, not as a reason to find a grudge against someone. I know saying "don't hold a grudge" is an oversimplification in a case where the conflict is current, like Turkey and Greece or Israel and Palestine.

(Oh, haha I guess the US is backing Israel to be politically correct, since, y'know, I'm sure we have to suck up to the muslims from time to time to get our oil. So maybe backing the Israelis kinda hides that.)

I would be annoyed to see that sort of poster, though. You'd never see something like "The Homeboy vs. the Uncle Tom brother". Are you gonna go and say something? Or is it just not worth the time?
