So I never thought I'd say this, but I actually agree with something that Bush is wanting to propose. It is the privatization of social security. What he wants to do is basically let people do their own investments whether it be in the stock market or through a personal savings account. Funny enough, I was talking about doing this a while back,

i completely agree with privatizing, however the process of getting into it would be quite sticky. on the one hand, we'd have people (group A) pulling out their money now, however the money from 'group A' always pays forward to support people who are just now retiring (group B) and their money went forward to the generation before them...and so on. so the problem is how we stop putting new money in from group A, without screwing over group B whose money was already used to pay for group C. some sort of rift or a weening process would have to be used, but there are so many gaps for that going wrong. i'm not saying the possibilities are so bad we shouldn't do it, i'm just saying it needs a lot more work with focus on that concept before we ever consider giving it a shot

see you're absolutely right... because if we go through with this reform, the biggest question is that what are retirees and those who are about to retire gonna do. should they continune working? should they start working again?

however what kills me... people who are independently wealthy and still receive social security just because they know they can get it. that's seriously some bullshit, and fucking avaricious!

oh yeah... the reform calls for YOUNGER people to do this. sad to say it... when the currently retired die out, social security will too.
