So much excitement this week! I am so, so happy that Obama was re-elected this week; it restored my faith in America and in some way, the world. Hope can prevail. "Thankyou America for being more than I expected" (Ani DiFranco)

&tomorrow, Noel & I fly to Hong Kong! I am very much looking forward to a holiday.

I'm so happy, too! Gay marriage was voted into law in three states, and at least one more state refused to place more obstacles toward marriage rights. Marijuana was legalized in two states (!), which I totally didn't expect, but I think that's a good development- it's common sense, and it will hopefully also help keep nonviolent people out of prison. And a bunch of yucky politicians were voted out of office to make room for women and other minority groups. Yay! :)

All of a sudden I'm actually pleased with my country.
