*falls over laughing*

Direct quote from Our Fearless Leader (TM):

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful...and so are we [insert wry grin here]. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people...and neither do we."

When I see people with the "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers, and the flags plastered on their cars, I just laugh and laugh.

I do love America...well, at least about 50 percent of America, anyway.

Isn't it sad that we're so divided? Or is it just me?

No no. I agree. I love America, some of the time also. Its just... we have those moments when we're all so connected, and then in a blink of an eye we can't agree on anything. And the really sad part about it is, when we're connected like that, all we can focus on is the connection, so there is no helping others and contributing to society. And when we can't agree on anything, obviously nothing gets done. Its a sad thing, it is.

It's counterproductive, it is.

It upsets me to think how separated we've become. How you're either a REPUBLICAN or a DEMOCRAT, and no one will change their opinions no matter what.

But I also get upset when people don't care about the issues and just vote for the same party their parents voted for, or the party they've always voted for. Make an educated decision!

So I guess I'm contradicting myself, because I wish we weren't so divided, but I also wish people would vote more decisively. Does that make any sense?

I'm reading this book about the founding fathers, and it's so frustrating because even if they were very very flawed, at least they had VALUES! And they CARED about making the country as wonderful as it could be, even if they had different views about what that meant.
