New tutorial for you guys, requested by
therailway. Thank you, hun :)
Okay, let's start :)
First of all i'd like to say that this tutorial won't work with all vm caps, cuz they're different, but you can try. Anyway, i was making last batch of vm icons using this technique.
1. Take our
base. As you can see, it's a bit dark, so duplicate it and set new layer to screen 100%.
2. Now we need to make her skin a bit natural. Create new Hue\Saturation layer and move saturation to 23 (actually, it depends from the picture, you can play with this option later to reach the color which is better for you). Much better, isn't it? :)
3. Now the coloring. I don't like to work with many color layers, so i prefer selective color. Create new Selective Color layer:
Red: cyan -100, yellow 100
Yellow: cyan -100, yellow 100
Neutral: Cyan 100, yellow -46.
The last yellow depends from the picture either. You'll see it, if you try this tut on another image.
4. I like the coloring, but i want it to be a bit more blue, so duplicate Selective Color layer and set it to Darken 40%. Ah, great, i love it ;)
5. Now other stuff. Add
this brush (i have it for a very long time, so i don't remember who made it, but i'm sure you'll hind something similar in communities). Then
this light texture (made by
mag0rian takem from
deviantart), rotate it and paste where ever you want, in our case i pasted it to the right and set to Screen 100%.
Ta-da, you're done :)
If you have questions, fell free to ask. And i'd love to see what you have :)
