iPod/iTunes question

Most of my CD transfer to iTunes library takes place on my laptop. for obvious reasons, i dont want to take my laptop to school. Can i put CDs on my desktop computer's iTunes library and put them on my iPod without a problem?

Are the two computers networked together? You may be able to sync the libraries between the two devices and then you can use the desktop as the iTunes ->iPod machine.
