I've long contended the #1 enemy of zombies would be the common turkey vulture.

On the other hand, if the zombie plague is a blood-borne pathogen, you then have a pack of big, zombie dogs.

Only if it's a BBP that is not only transmittable between species but also affects them all the same. That's not unknown, but it is rare.
