Hooray!

It went so well, y'all! We were hoping for 100 people and there were actually between 200 and 300. The kids had a great time, the community center looked awesome, we did not run out of food too quickly, the mayor seemed happy, lots of people took the tour of our computer classroom and saw everything we can teach up there, some people checked out ( Read more... )

That dragon boat is AWESOME.

I am SO HAPPY! I was really worried for the first ten minutes or so when nobody seemed to be showing up, but then TONS of people arrived, and the ones who came first didn't show signs of leaving, and then all of a sudden the place was packed! Hooray!

I didn't even notice until after I took the picture that they had hung the Viking hats on his head and tail. :)

Yes, the fire guys were very happy! I didn't get to talk to the police, but I hope they had a good time too.

I actually took the pictures after most people had left, because I forgot to take any before! The thing on the stage is Christmas lights, and they were plugged in while stuff was going on. :)

The thing I'm proudest of is all the stuff that will *stay* there, like the new pictures on the walls and the floor mats and all that stuff that will make it look homier. I'll try to get some pics of the classroom upstairs next time I go. I'm so happy with how it looks now!

(*hopes will not have to give back the stuff I stole liberated from the children's room closet*)
