Things With Which I Will Reward Myself Upon Finishing My Essay

This seems tighter. AlthoughI liked the idea of saying something about the gods, I think you're right and that's too heady a topic to choose for a paper like this, not to mention too unsupportable on a grand scale. This way, you've narrowed your focus to something concrete: individual instances of deception, compare and contrast. So you can spend most of your paper talking about those contrasts, and at the end, decide what (if anything) this may indicate about the cultures involved. So I think you're on the right track.

Unfortunately, my memory of the events you cite is too dim for me to really put them into place, but it seems like you've still got a little theme of "tradition" vs. "God's will" going on, which would make a lot of sense since the Greek myths illustrate stories of days gone by and Genesis is cataloging the origins of a culture (to be overly simplistic about it). And that's one question you can ask, maybe; what are these stories for? What is their place in their respective cultures, and what are they trying to teach ( ... )
