Luckily for the universe, my One True Love isn't real.
He's the main character in this series (The
Nightlife/Cal Leandros books by Rob Thurman) which I may, or may not, be unhealthily fixated upon. Who's to judge?
And do I care?
NO!
Because the next book in the series is coming out on March 1st!

That's how I started and now I own the whole series in kindle AND dead tree format, the audiobook of it as well as the two audiobooks from her same-world alternate series Trick of the Light, have forced the print version down the throats of everyone I know (a copy of their own, they're not allowed to have mine,) and am going berserk for the next book.
....
It's a slippery slope.

There... there were CAL PARTIES?! (Woah, I mistyped and wrote 'panties.' ::dirty grin:: Heh heh heh... Ahem! ::slaps the Robin Goodfellow out of her brain::)
And I missed them?! I could've got to a Cal party AND met you?!
Goddammit.
Okay, that seals it. I'm seriously angling for DragonCon/Atlanta this year.
Maybe we can bring the party to you! <3

And I'm still poor and underappreciated.
I know, right? It hardly seems fair that Twilight is out there tearing up tracks and Nightlife is (ha ha) in the shadows.
Pfft. Obviously where you are going wrong is the lack of mindless romantic drivel. How dare you.
Especially with the whole urban fantasy genre booming. Nightlife as a movie would kick ass and take names. Back when the trailers for Sorcerer's Apprentice was showing I used to pretend it was a preview of a Nightlife movie.
::longing sigh::
Last year two chicks dressed as Cal and Niko.
HA! That's awesome! Oh, I hope they come again. If I can make it, I'm coming as an AUPHE! We can do battle.

I recently read the first book, and have the others ready to go on my Kindle (though I'm a really slow reader), so I can understand your excitement \o/\o/\o/\o/

We can be Nightlife Buddies! Who is your favorite? Cal, Niko, or Robin?
Dang, it's hard to choose, isn't it? XD
Awww! Thank you for the pic-complimenty belly rub!
I'm drawing frantically to try to occupy myself while waiting for the next book.
(17 DAYS!!)
I've got so much bottled up excitement that I think it may be eating away at my brain.
All it takes is a little nudge to set me off.
Everyone I know thinks it's real great, but I think I might die.
My dad walked into my apartment yesterday, glances at my CALendar (which I told him all about the last time he visited) and then looks straight at me and says mildly "Not so many days left." And then smirked as I squealed and writhed and clawed at the walls. ^__^;;
