Jenny, you'll probably be wanting to skip over this post.

Sooo... I finally sacked up and watched 127 Hours.
It was powerful, to say the least.  You have to admire that man's will to live.
::convulsive shudder::
It took me like three hours to watch, because I had to keep pausing to cover my face and breathe, or to get up and pace unhappily around the apartment for a while to distance myself.
The horrible ( Read more... )

Let's hope that if anything ever does happen to you that it happens to your left hand. XP

I didn't watch it, and for the same reason that you had to keep stopping it, I would not enjoy the experience. Good thing I'm an indoor adventurer!

Lol That was my first thought.
Well, actually, I just hoped outright that it doesn't happen, but if I absolutely positively cannot possibly avoid loosing a hand, let it please dear god be my left hand.
Or, maybe just a foot instead. I could handle a foot. Maybe. That's a big bone. Ugh. Now I'm thinking of SAW. Barf. Nevermind. Just kill me instead.

Yeah, you would hate it. It's uhm... well, I'm glad I watched it but I am NEVER watching it again.

Lol, you mean like Pagemaster? ::grin::

Oh God, Pagemaster. No, my adventures have never nor will they ever involve Macauley Culkin.

I was going to say you would be the Macauley Culkin character, but no, the visual of you as a pretty little floating book with pink fairy wings and a wand is MUCH more amusing. XD

Well, that was a complete turn around...
I had absolutely NO desire to watch that movie, read that book, or... hell... even read much of the news reports on it, because the whole thing just kind of made my knees feel weak. *shudder*

I've always been interested in how peoples' thought processes and behaviors change when faced with extreme circumstances.
I wasn't sure about watching it either, but then it was nominated for the Oscars and I felt challenged.

The turn around... yeah. So okay. I'd totally get it if he was a little overconfident in himself and broke the rules of safety and common sense once and got really unlucky, but this guy does it time and time and time again.
You'd think he'd be more cautious or at least carry some sort of emergency kit, having narrowly escaped the jaws of death as many times as he has.
But no.
I still admire his spirit and zest for life and fearlessness, but I have a smidgen less sympathy for his plight (just a smidgen, because no one deserves to be punished like that for being careless, holy crap) because his situation was the result of a whole lot less "epically bad luck" and a boatload more "stupidly reckless" than I originally thought.
I think this guy had the right idea, he just took it too far.
