Also, my voice right now is freaking amazing. I sound like Morgan Freeman.
Edit: Ha ha ha, oh god, guess what. I was curious to see what my voice sounded like outside my head so I opened up Garageband and recorded myself reading the Cal Leandros Party post, because I can't just ramble on cue (okay, ramble intelligently on cue) and that post is

I read the book that film came from... eh. ::Wobbles hand back and forth:: The movie was much more powerful to me.
You know, it's weird. I'm definitely not a fan of Stephen King's writing (GASP! ::Is stoned to death by a million rabid book critics::) but the movies that are made from his books I almost always really enjoy.
The contradiction of that is killing me. I swear, it's almost to the point of Banana Syndrome. So many other people really really enjoy his writing, plus his critique of other writers' works is always given such weight that I keep giving his books a try, hoping I'll finally understand the appeal, but so far... nope.
Oh noes! I am uncouth! ::Grins unrepentantly::

I am a Stephen King fan, but selectively. There are some books of his I just couldn't get through. I liked his entertainment column and I like The Dark Tower series- tho I will admit the ending made me toss the damn book across the room- and there are some short pieces that I love. Some- like Cell, It, and The Dome(?) I couldn't finish. They just didn't work for me! So I do understand!
Actually, I think the book critics wouldn't be stoning you. I don't think most of them like him either! I don't think I've read a good review for him (other than the ones on the back of the books themselves!)

Really? Huh. Guess I wouldn't know since I don't really follow him, but it always seemed to me that he cropped up everywhere in the writing world. "Stephen King asked JK Rowling this" or "Stephen King said that about the Hunger Games."
How odd.

You're sweet for asking, but nah. I feel fine. The worst was the day of the fifth, but that's long over now. My body is fairly resilient. ::pats chest in a fond good-dog, good-dog gesture::
Now it's just a hanging-on head cold that has shifted into my chest, where it is completely bearable. I just have my Creeper voice and produce prolific amounts of mucus.
