This is not poorly written. I have started to catch a glimpse of Yuu's personality in this chapter, which was good :D It's intersting how he pretended to be harsh and cold to Yutaka although inside he appreciated his presence. And how there seemed to be a distance between them, which was also a factor helping to maintain their friendship.
“Why did we even play this game?" I think it's Yuu who said this line?
