Loved this story. It's got a beautiful build-up from Jim's childhood up to his retirement. And the fact that it ties in so well with the other parts of the series doesn't hurt either in the beautiful department.

Starfleet's always kind of had a problem saying no to them.

This is probably my favourite sentence in this story. Especially with the portrayal of the Enterprise guys as crazy, this sentence is bound to bring out a smile. :)

I would like to find a better way to explain all the ways I adore this fanfic, but I can't. So let me leave it at that.
