something different

For once, I'll be living up to the first third of my name. It turns out that if you put me in a kitchen with some random ingredients and a demand that I produce something fun, I have a bit of a flair for cocktails. Who knew? I call this invention, ICEBERG ON FLAMINGO LAKE ( Read more... )

This sounds fantastic. I love how it isn't precise or anything ;)

XD precision really wasn't on my mind at the time, it was more like: this is what we have, I'll divide it by three. Apparently, Passoa is also very nice with cranberry and orange juice, but we didn't have any.

Oh my GOD that sounds delicious! I may have to buy pomegranates and try this out. Oh wait, I need the booze too... But yeurch, gin. Can you taste the gin in it?

Yeah, you can - which is great for me but not so much if you don't like it. You could probably substitute something else, or just double the Passoa, which would make it even fruitier :D

I think mostly I'm hooked in by the sorbet! Sorbet in a cocktail is inspired, and I think every bar ever should do this. XD I mean, ice cream cocktails are smashing, but SORBET?! GENIUS!! Hm yes, methinks a bottle of Passoa might have to be forthcoming. Maybe I could substitute the gin with something else. Vodka, lol. Ooooh, or cherry liquor! ZOMG I am totally trying that now. <3

Oh GOD! cherry liquor would be AWESOME.

Sorbet in a cocktail is practically healthfood, you know. *nods* It's also a very good icecube substitute, and good for people with lactose intolerance (the actual reason behind this - my sister can't take milk or cream at all)

So, I give you bartending props for coming up with what sounds like a rather delicious concoction. I can't try it myself, because gin makes me do really. Stupid. Shit. But I'm going to make it for my sister and mom when they get home. :)

Anyway, mostly I had to comment because of this:

You just know Castiel would drink this girly shit.

FFFFFFFFF OMG YOU ARE SO RIGHT. CAS WOULD TOTALLY DRINK FRUITY CHICK DRINKS AND GET ALL LOOPY. *draws hearts around him*

Ah, see, gin is the only spirit which *doesn't* make me do stupid shit. Rum? Oh god...

Hope your sister and mom enjoy! You could always just delete the gin for yourself, this is in no way a strict recipe. Hell, I threw it together.

HE WOULD, AND DEAN WOULD BE ALL MANLY WITH HIS BEER AND CASTIEL WOULD BE DRINKING OUT OF A HOLLOWED OUT MANGO WITH AN UMBRELLA AND GLITTER ON HIS NOSE.

I must say, you make a minor like myself want to drink.

Shame on you for saying such delicious and fun sounding things.

I am the corruptor! It is very fun, but you could probably get the same level of fruity goodness from passionfruit juice and sorbet combined.

But...it wouldn't be as fun without the alcohol.

... can't argue with that. I'm just making an effort not to corrupt you with my european loucheness and relaxed alcohol laws.
