Oh, yeah, at 1 mos. old sharp Sean weighed 11 lbs 1 oz, compared to birth weight of 8 lbs. Turns out Mommy, looking for a good deal, bought too many size 1 diapers at Sam's. And my little man flipped over from his tummy back onto his back twice in a row today. He's done it before by accident, but today was the first time he deliberatly did it ( Read more... )

Kaylee sleeps through her morning feeding that is around 7 am. I am not sure if I should wake her up and let her "hang" so she will sleep longer afterwards or just let her sleep? I know that if I would wake her up she would be fussy and not really up for playing but I also know that they should have some activity time after feeding... She slept after 730 feeding today until 9 am... and she didn't sleep deep, just REM sleep tossing and turning. Then she kinda woke up, I also talked to her to help her wake up just saying gently "rise and shine..." So, she wanted to eat right away, and I fed her at 930 and we played for about 30 min, she started showing signs of being tired and then I soothed her sleep ( ... )

I see. For the past couple of days she has been better and better. I did exactly as you would do.. I keep her awake as hard as I can without getting her all cranky. I can manage to keep her awake for about 30 min after feed now and the pattern is more predictable with eat-active-sleep. She is on her 6th week and I think she is going through the growth spurt because she woke up 45 min into her sleep today and ate 4 oz of formula (didn't have enough breast milk at that time:) and she did the same last night and after the feeds she falls asleep without rocking or any props only swaddling.
I will try to wean her off the night feed in a week.. Somehow I am not sure she is ready to do it at week 6... She sleeps after her last feed for 5-6 hrs... but I am just so afraid that not having night feed will get her off schedule... because it has been just one week since she started to sleep better...

I'd give it a couple of weeks for her schedule to stabilize even a little more. She may drop the night feed herself in just a few weeks. If she does not, then you can go ahead and try to wean her then.
