Thank you, Mr. Kit, for insisting we get a satellite dish in a place that the term, "When it rains, it pours" was invented for. I said it was a bad idea.
If you are losing tv to rain, it's not aimed properly. We have DirecTV and the few times we have lost tv we were too scared by the storm to really care. Though I know DISH isn't quite as good because their satellites are lower in the sky.
We don't lose it to ordinary rain, just these periodic tremendous downpours with jags of sky-to-ground lightning and booming rolls of thunder. (Loud noises scare me; even if I could reach the dish I wouldn't go out in those.) Admittedly, we sometimes had short lapses in cable, too, during that kind of storm -- but it never lasted as long. Won't bug me as much once I have my desktop set up; I'm only watching TV because CoX overheats my laptop right quickly.
