Ein has just discovered that he is large enough to jump up on the couch (in pursuit of the many forbidden human things up there...such as books and fuzzy blankets). Fantastic. He thinks he is extremely cool now, and while "OFF!" gets him off, he is not the least repentant. No. He gives me is very best smile after I chase him off. Bah.

I invested in a nerf dart gun for my kitties. They regarded the water sprayer as a mere annoyance, but the dart gun they move their furry asses for. So far, they've stayed off the counters and the stove.

The shake can works well for Ein -- an aluminum can with pennies in it. I shake it in his general direction when he's doing naughty things. It makes a loud and (to him) scary noise. I don't overuse it, so it works pretty well -- I trained him not to bark at me when I'm eating with it. He thought the water sprayer was wonderful fun, and would extend his bad behavior in order to get squirted again. The shake can, however, he does not like.
