Is it better to fake it than be alone?

So last Saturday I met this MS1 guy at a party, and in the intervening days he's called/texted me literally every day. Yesterday we had a coffee, and while he seems nice enough, I don't get that feeling that I want to be in a relationship with him. I vote for, if you don't want to date him, then you shouldn't.

I mean, you could hang out with him and get to know him, if you wanted. Nothing wrong with having more friends. Though, if it were me, I would tell him that the constant texting was a deal-breaker. Because that would drive me absolutely batty.

I definitely wouldn't go out with him because your friends there think you should. I don't think that ever ends well, and it's not a fair situation to either of you. You, because you're with a person you don't care about, and him, because if he does like you, that's like leading him on.

I guess my bottom line is this: If you're happy not dating someone (which I think you are?), don't go dating some guy just for the sake of dating. Because that's a little silly.

That's my philosophy too, but it sort of weirded me out that some of my close friends here seemed to think it was jumping the gun.

(In an update, he came by the carrel a few minutes ago. Aggghhhh.)

Also, we should talk soon!
