Well, it's been a while since I read the Pheonix Saga (I've gotten second prints of the comics haha), but from what I know...M'kraan crystal-breaking = big NO NO! I'm not aware of that being an issue (if it was, not as major as defeating D'ken - I think is his name) but no one really wants to break that crystal. I think. Crap, now I am going to have to search through shit to see if that's the case...but I don't think Stan Lee would be that incompetant - the games are usually off from the comic, yanno.

Had I an allowance and storage as a child, I would have read the comics... as it stands, my only claim to X-Geekdom is birthed from jarbled memories of the cartoon and snipits of trivia learned form conversation...

...The shame...

The problem is, is that how the M'Kraan crystal has been handled in the comics has changed over the years. As it stands now, due to Grant Morrison's stint on the New X-Men book, not only does the crystal contain a UNIVERSE consisting entirely of high density neutron stars, but it also contains the White Hot Room, which is a hangout spot for everyone who has, is, and will be the Phoenix force host. A shard of it...ok to take, theoretically. Ritually opening it however, is inviting destruction on an omnivesral scale, because the crystal is a singleton, with only one M'kraan crystal for all the marvel universes (mainline comics taking place in 616)

A tip of the hat to you, sir! Though I've one more bone to pick, then. In the cartoon Jean's Phoenix is seen mending the crystal from something obviously resembling a crack that would produce a shard [as needed for the game], BUT when D'kan "opened" the crystal it was more a panel -opening-type-dealie. Now, I'm assuming the crystal was somehow closed but damaged when Phoenix began to battle D'kan, but in either case the crystal not being intact seems to translate to Universe Vacuum. So once again, the idea of taking a shard just doesn't sit right with me. *shakes head* I think the peoples at Activision were just trying to get the plot to Shi'ar, but forgot to do the research. *nods*

Yeah, but only in one of the multitude of Marvel Universes... I'm sure they'll bring him back somehow.

Here, have a cute kitty.

unfortunately, it is doubtful that they'll bring cap back, at least while Joe Quesada is in charge. Because you see, unfortunately right now, Marvel is run by what we laymen like to call Douchebags. And not just ordinary douchebags, titanic douchebags, intended for a vag of such immense girth that it could put Galactus to shame when it comes to swallowing planets. They've killed Cap, after running an (often late) storyline which was basically a loving declaration of support for every freedom trampling, rights crushing piece of legislative wank that the Shrub has forced down our throats since he came into office. He's turned the Thunderbolts, an awesome book about villans trying to be heroes, into a crappy book with Bullseye and the fucking GREEN GOBLIN as members of the team...and i won't even start with Wolverine's Emo bisexual son.
Anyway, before i rant...yes, comics=screwed right now.
