Summary: Tony is kidnapped and beaten up during a case, and it's up to Team Gibbs to find him, but they must involve their LA office to get him back. Gibbs travels to Mexico first, but is warned to go North to New York by his own gut. Will Gibbs find his Second in Command before he's broken?

Chapter 1

Leroy Jethro Gibbs sighed for the upteenth time that morning, and growled for the second time at his Second in Command, Anthony D. DiNozzo, Jr. He was currently typing something into his computer and squinting at it. "DiNozzo! Did you find anything useful on our dead Marine?" DiNozzo turned from his computer, widened his eyes and stated he was having trouble reading fine print. "Then enlarge the file! McGee, help him out. DiNozzo, front and center!" DiNozzo came over to his desk, and looked at his boss nervously. "Tony, do you need glasses?" Ziva David looked on with interest.

"No, Boss. It was very tiny print. Even I had trouble seeing it." Timothy McGee stated as he sat back down at his own desk. "It's fixed, Tony." Gibbs dismissed DiNozzo to finish getting the file on their dead Marine. DiNozzo then got up and went to the printer, snatching up the printouts, and a folder from his desk before standing at attention in front of Gibbs.

"Boss, our Marine traveled alot to get here. He originally lived in San Diego, stayed in New York and Mexico at one point before coming here. He mainly shipped cargo for our aircraft carriers and subs in port. Cargo, like meals and supplies, like medicine for the on-board M.D., not knowing he was also smuggling LSD. Somehow he got curious with one of the extra crates, found the LSD and someone found him, shot him, then left him for dead- not knowing he bled out slowly or intending for him to bleed out. He was born- don't laugh, 'Alouisious Lawrence Figuerero, the third'. I feel so sorry for this guy." No one rose to the bait, so DiNozzo moved on. "Born in Mt. Sinai Hospital on December 15, 1978- he then was discharged later to the care of Staff Sergeant A. L. F., Jr. and Magarette Figuerero, who then took their newborn to San Diego, California. Growing up, he wanted to be a Marine like his father, and was stationed in San Diego before going on the USS Enterprise. Stan e-mailed this by the way, Boss. Said, 'ALF had been a decent Marine, and he broke up a few fights for Stan when the Sailors decided poker and liquor mixed.' His words. ALF had then got transfered to the USS Seahawk for New York and later wound up in Mexico for a short while visiting family. Each time the USS Seahawk was in port, he was on and off the craft only for a day. The CoB had stated he was asked to pick up the crates that were due on the craft, and then he'd been allowed 'free time' for the remainder of the day." DiNozzo sat the folder- open, in front of Gibbs. Gibbs glanced at the folder briefly, before nodding to his agent to continue. "He was 31 when someone decided to kill him over drugs. Case of wrong place-wrong time and curiosity-killed-the-cat. Stan wants to meet us in LA, he's in port. He says he has more, just couldn't put the words down on paper- that the suspects might be on his craft."

"Grab your gear, DiNozzo, we're going to LA. And no, we're not going commercial nor will we rent a sports car. The two of you stay here. Tim, you're in charge." He growled. DiNozzo decidedly looked chagrinned, and he raced to grab his backpack as Gibbs strode towards the elevator. Once both men were on the lift, Gibbs turned to DiNozzo, and waited for his gaze to level with his own. "You will take fifteen minutes at your place to gather some extra clothes and toiletries for your kit. I'll wait in my car, then it's to my place so I can do the same." DiNozzo nodded, and the elevator opened up to Abby's floor.

"Bossman! I heard that you're meeting Stan in LA. That true?" She hugged Gibbs and stood back to wait for his answer.

"Yeah, Abs. We need to get going. I need to swing by the base to inform the Sergeant that we'll be heading out there on the next ride. Stan has a hunch that the suspects are still on the USS Enterprise. See you when we get back. Come on, DiNozzo." DiNozzo smiled ruefully at Abby, and watched the doors on the lift shut on an bemused Abby. Finally the doors opened onto the parking garage level, and both men got into the car after stowing DiNozzo's backpack in the back seat. "So, you talk to Burley alot?"

"He e-mailed me because you don't check your inbox often, and he wanted to make sure you got up to speed." DiNozzo was staring out at the traffic. Gibbs was driving his 'kill-me-now' speed, but DiNozzo was used to it now. Gibbs swerved onto the ramp to DiNozzo's place. "The place is dusty because Maria quit on me. Said I don't pay her enough." He shrugged a shoulder. "I try to clean up my messes though." He turned to Gibbs, a faint grin on his face. It looked more like a grimace in the low lighting on the passing street lamps. Gibbs nodded, and pulled up to the apartment complex, parking next to a red SUV. "Great, Danny's home. Let's sneak into my back door. He'll be waiting for me to appear in the hallway. He lives across from me, and wants to talk about women. I tried telling him I've put off dating, but he's been trying to set me up." Gibbs followed DiNozzo to his first floor place. He let them in, and hurried to his bedroom and grabbed a few sweaters and t-shirts, along with jeans, slacks, socks, boxers and tennis shoes. He tossed them into his extra backpack, along with a few 'essentials' from the bathroom to stock his kit. He shut the lights off, and within the time-limit Gibbs assigned him, he followed his boss back to the car after locking up. "You still have my spare key, right?" He asked Gibbs unexpectedly. Gibbs turned to him before starting the engine.

"What brought that on? Yeah I do. Right here." He dangled the key in front of DiNozzo's nose.

"Just like to use rule number three, but just the double-check part." Gibbs nodded curtly. He started the car, and soon they were back on the highway heading to Gibbs' home.

***

Gibbs pulled into his driveway and ordered DiNozzo to 'stay in the car and don't touch the radio!' before going into his house to grab an extra set of clothes. He was outside and in his car about the same time he'd given DiNozzo. They were well within an hour into the drive when finally they got to the base. Gibbs flashed his badge at the front security MP, and was waved through. They were led to the man in charge of the base, a Drill Sergeant Edward Bailey. "Hey, Gunny! Long time no see?"

"Seen you last month, Ed. We need a cargo flight to LA. The next one ASAP. We had a Marine murdered on our turf, and the suspects might still be on the USS Enterprise. We're meeting an Agent Afloat."

"Jethro, the next cargo's in about fifteen minutes. You made it just in time!" Gibbs grinned, and he and his agent followed D. S. Bailey to the airfield. They boarded the aircraft after saying goodbye to Bailey. DiNozzo sent Gibbs a glare half-an-hour into the flight. Gibbs gave a little grin and settled into his canvas seat, determined to take a catnap.

"Wake me when we get there." And Gibbs began snoring softly. DiNozzo stared at his boss' serene face, wondering when he started feeling something for his *straight* boss. He never even got passed a mutual blowjob with Probie. It was a dare, by Abby- of course, and he could take it. It was quick, but not mind-blowing like with the bunnies or Jeanne. He thinks he wants it with Gibbs- to go 'all the way' with his boss, but a) Gibbs was straight- three ex-wives, a wife and a child; and b) if he did swing that way, well, the whole rule 12 nips that thought in the bud. So he settled for unrequited love again. He did it once, in college with Marianne, but she turned him down, so he settled for 'Miss Right-Now' Darlene Forscythe, the University editor. One of the co-pilots came back, and DiNozzo woke Gibbs up. The man looked like he was in his early thirties, and handed Gibbs a coffee.

"We'll be landing in ten, Gibbs. The coffee's fresh from the on-flight percolator." Gibbs grinned and nodded.

"Boss, can ya get them to get me one?" The man returned with a fresh cup, doctored to his tastes.

"We received a message from an Abby Sciuto. 'Tony might need a coffee- he takes it with four sugars and cream. And tell Gibbs to call her when you land.' She apparently sounds hot." Gibbs laughed.

"She's goth, Mike. Not your type. You're into brunettes, not raven-haired women." Mike sighed and resumed his seat up front. "That's Bailey's nephew." DiNozzo nodded, cradling his coffee through the turbulence. Once the plane touchdown, he took a quick sip before snatching up both backpacks and followed his boss off the ramp. They were greeted by a black man and a white man.

"Gibbs. Good to see you again. Stan had said he'd wait at the office for you. And who's this?"

"Special Agents Sam Hanna and G. Callen, I'd like you to meet Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, Jr. Call him Tony. Tony, Sam and Callen." DiNozzo shook Hanna's hand and eyed Callen before accepting the firm handshake.

"You know the Boss here?" Callen grinned.

"We go way back, but that's a story for another day." He grabbed DiNozzo's and Gibbs' backpacks and tossed all four into the trunk of the car before climbing in. They were in one of the company cars, their normal car only fit two people. "Macy's left. We have a new head, Henrietta Lange, but call her Hetty." Gibbs grunted in acknowledgement.

"Doesn't say much does he, G?"

"Not unless it counts. I can read between the lines though. He'll call her Hetty." Callen translated to his lover. Hanna smiled ruefully, and pulled up to a building that reminded DiNozzo of a standard Mexican villa. They were given visitor's badges, and followed Hanna and Callen over to where Stan was waiting.

"Hey, Stan. You got my e-mail?" DiNozzo patted Stan's shoulder while giving him a firm handshake.

"Got it forty minutes ago on my phone. So, Boss, looks like I need Tony's help too. He's had a taste of Agent Afloat. I need his undercover skills at port."

"We're hooking him up with the lastest in GSP chips. It's gotta be implanted subdorally, so he needs to see our in-house doc." Eric Beal explained.

"Read me in then, men." They explained everything in minute detail, got DiNozzo shot up with the chip, wired, and began repeating his role to make sure they were heard. Hetty appeared with her normal advice after being introduced.

"Ah, Mr. DiNozzo, do look after yourself. We'll have backup but they'll be ten minutes away. That's how close we can get Hanna and Callen before they're spotted."

"Tony, these guys seemed like the bullying type. Make sure you don't piss them off until we got everything on tape." Gibbs looked at his Second. He had on the Navy blues, and his hair was cut for effect.

"DiNozzo answers to me if he pisses them off early. Got that Tony?" He raised his eyebrow, and crossed his arms over his chest.

"I know, Boss. You've drilled that into me for nine years almost. I maybe a slow learner, but I do that to get a rise out of you." He grinned. Gibbs smiled ruefully, and headslapped him, but there was less sting to it. DiNozzo flashed him a mock-grimace.

"Sorry, Boss. Thank you, Boss." That made everyone laugh. "My work here is done. You all didn't look like you laugh." They sobered up quickly.

"I'll go to the Enterprise with you, but I'm on leave until tomorrow. The CoB, Skipper, and Captain know already. They're pissed that they've employed drug smugglers on their ship, and agreed to let me bring someone aboard to flush them out. But since we all don't board 'til later tonight, we'll bring you to the port to get you fitted in, Tony." Stan stated solemnly. He was going to be one of four friends on a ship of 2000 men. Stan was friends with the men in command, knowing them through Vivian Blackadder when she was still on the old Team Gibbs.

***

It all went to hell in a hand basket. DiNozzo was doing fine, he followed the drug smugglers' orders, and even had them talking easily. He had everything recorded and he tossed the tape where he was supposed to so Hanna and Callen could retreive it before picking him up, but one of the lesser smugglers had followed him. They didn't see where he tossed the tape, but saw the recorder taped to DiNozzo's abdomen. He gestured to someone behind DiNozzo- Arino Savacci, and the world went black. Gibbs was fuming when Callen and Hanna returned to head quarters sans his Second in Command. "He was made, Gibbs. They must have followed him. By the time we got there, we only managed to put a bullet into the rear windshield as they sped away. Tony's head appeared briefly in the window, and they had a gag on him." Callen informed Gibbs.

"Eric, how far away are they?" Eric's fingers flew faster than McGee's as he traced the GPS transmitter.

"He's flying. Non-descript un-licensed private plane. They're going to Mexico." Gibbs barked that he was borrowing Hanna and Callen and that Eric needed to book the first flight out.

"Eric, keep us informed via cell." Eric had already booked the first flight and was waiting for the confirmation to print out. He handed it to Callen, he just wanted to keep Gibbs from glaring at him. "He's all bark, and the bite is more like a nip." Gibbs glared at his former Moscow partner. He spoke in Russian quickly to Callen, who took a sharp in take of breath. "All right Gibbs. We'll get your man back." Hanna nodded solemnly in agreement as they headed for the company car they used earlier. Hetty snatched Eric's earpiece and warned Gibbs via Callen's cell that they could have hacked the GPS datacode and switched it. Some of these guys were smart, since they've managed to get Tony and kill a Marine. That seamed to infuriate Gibbs more.

"Damnit! That means they could be headed somewhere else by now. Get Eric to re-route us to the USS Seahawk. I think they're going to New York." He said grimly. He's gut was churning. They were in the air for the 17 hour flight. Gibbs growled, but couldn't do anything to make the pilot fly faster.

***

Meanwhile in the smuggler's plane...

They had chained DiNozzo to a small hook in the ceiling. They removed his shirt, the gag, and his shoes. One of them slapped him awake. He blinked up at them, and once he recognized Carlos Mendez- the leader himself, he began struggling against his bonds. Carlos laughed, and had a few of his bruisers beat on DiNozzo until he began wheezing for air. He stopped them with a flick of his right wrist. "So, Arino Savacci is it? Who do you work for and your real name. You know if you lie to me, you'll be screaming for mercy by the time they're done with you." DiNozzo ignored the questions and ignored the pain in his ribs. He fucked up, they'd followed him, and got the drop on him. Now he'd have to pray that his boss come find him. "Well, we'll get it out of you soon. Take your time, men. This is a 17 hour flight and we've been on here only an hour." He went up to the cabin and stayed there for an hour. By the time he came back, DiNozzo still hadn't answered his questions. It had went like that for the whole trip. They had landed on their private airfield near the port in New York. The men unhooked DiNozzo from the ceiling and caried the still struggling bruised man to the waiting truck. "You're only delaying a peaceful death, Savacci." DiNozzo ignored him, but sent out a silent prayer that Gibbs found him soon. He could tell his body was weakening more under the assaults to it. They drove to the port, but Gibbs appeared out of nowhere along with Callen and Hanna. Apparently Gibbs got fustrated by the time they flew over Denver, Colorado and had deboarded the plane in search of an old Army base. He came to an old friend named David Reston. From the base, they had a fast aircraft fly them to New York within four hours. So they made it to the port before the plane. Gibbs warned the Skipper of the USS Seahawk not to make port. After arresting Mendez's men, he made sure to have his head banged on the hood of a NYPD car before pushing him into the back seat. When he got to DiNozzo, the man was covered in blood and bruises. His nose and lips did not look like they'd stop flowing. Ducky had arrived five minutes after the arrest- having been called earlier while Gibbs was in Denver. Ducky checked DiNozzo out, and looked up at Gibbs grimly.

"He needs to go to the hospital, Jethro. I can't stop the blood flow. He's also in shock, with cracked ribs." DiNozzo mumbled something, but Gibbs had heard him.

"Not going to the hospital. They'll turn me into a guinea pig here more than DC. They know my father." Gibbs remembered their last case where he meet Tony's father.

"We'll get you as far as Pennsylvania. Then we'll have to transport you to Bethesda by helo."

"You'd do that, Boss?" Gibbs wanted to headslap him, but tapped it instead.

"Because I look after my own. You just sit there on that gurney. I'll make some calls for that helo to meet us in Pennsylvania." He patted Tony's upper arm gently before stepping away from the crowd to call in his favors. He knew he'd need JAG in on this if he'd wanted this case to stick to Mendez. Callen stepped over to DiNozzo and crouched down to eye-level with the DC Agent.

"I'll have your things shipped from the trunk of the car to Gibbs' home. And, I hope you heal like I do."

"I've been shot, stabbed, drugged, given the Pneumonic plague, and kidnapped. I've had concussions, a busted knee cap, fractured radius in my left shoulder, and I've survived them. I even rescued Gibbs and a childhood friend of his girl Kelly from drowning in a sunken car with my bad lungs. This is child's play compared to the pain of the Pneumonic plague. I'd hacked up a lung if it could have stopped the pain of trying to breathe without choking on my own spit." Callen had the good grace to look shocked.

"Pneumonic plague?! That's what was in the Dark Ages."

"Apparently some whack job was dying, she wanted to kill the Agent who worked her daughter's rape case and released the sailor who supposedly raped her. The rest Gibbs knows, because I was busy trying to live. I was the idiot who snatched the envelope up and opened it, thinking it was for me. It just said 'Agent' in the sender section." Gibbs came back over to where DiNozzo was still sitting on the gurney.

"The helo is now waiting for us on the border of Pennsylvania and New York. A. J. Chegwidden and Harmon Rabb are waiting back at the Yard for us. Ducky, has the bleeding let up yet?"

"Only by a little, Jethro. Anthony, has your vision diminished yet?" DiNozzo looked at a fuzzy looking Ducky.

"Somewhat. Is that you?" He swayed on the gurney, and blacked out. Ducky layed him down gently, and pushed him over to the rental Gibbs was driving.

"Have his head elevated until we get to that helo, Jethro. I'll follow in the airport rental. We must hurry." Gibbs and Hanna lifted DiNozzo and placed him in the back seat. Gibbs climbed in where his head sat, lifted it, and cushioned it on his lap. Hanna and Callen climbed into the front seats, and Hanna sped off with Ducky tailing close behind.

"That's a first for Ducky. He drives a Morgan." Gibbs stated out of the blue as he watched Ducky in the rear view mirror. It was a short drive due to Hanna speeding. The pilot of the helo came over to Gibbs once they had DiNozzo on the gurney and on the helo. "Bethesda Maryland General. His records are there. He's lost a lot of blood due to those injuries." He turned to Hanna and Callen. "Can one of you return Ducky's rental. I'll meet you both at the hospital, but I need to go with him as well as I'll need Ducky with me." Hanna nodded.

"I'll take his car, G. will head to Bethesda." He nodded, got Ducky's keys, and strolled over to the rental after tossing Callen the keys to their rental. Gibbs and Ducky got on the helo and soon were embarking on the flight to Bethesda.

Chapter 2

Somehow Abby, David and McGee got wind of DiNozzo's kidnapping and subsequent trip to Bethesda's hospital, and were now sitting in a waiting room waiting for Ducky and Gibbs' arrival. The helo touched down on the roof, and Gibbs was met by Doctor Brad Pitt. "We meet again, Agent Gibbs. Sorry it's under these circumstances. But if Tony's got cracked ribs, his lungs could become compromised. Was he wheezing when he talked?"

"A little bit. He also needs a blood transfusion and something to clot the blood that's still flowing." Ducky stated once he and the pilot got DiNozzo's gurney out. They followed Pitt down to the E.R. and were told to wait until they could find out why DiNozzo was still out. Abby rushed over to Gibbs and stared at him when he came into their waiting room.

"Is he gonna be alright, Bossman?" Gibbs hugged her, and sat down.

"He's really all bruises and blood, Abs. And he blacked out before we left New York. We'll have to wait until Doctor Pitt knows why he's still out. I need coffee." He got back up, intending to search for coffee, but McGee thrusted some out to him.

"Bought some while we waited, Boss. Strong enough for your standards. Still warm." Gibbs excepted the cup, and nodded his thanks while he took a healthy sip. Ducky walked over to the RN nurse, filled out the necessary paperwork to sign DiNozzo in, and asked if he could have a nurse update him on the surgery.

"Hi, Doctor Mallard. I'm Nurse Emma Ingham. I was Tony's nurse when he had the plague. I'll keep you updated if you'd like, since I'm headed to E.R. myself."

"Please call me Ducky. And thank you, dear." He smiled egnimatically at her. She returned his smile, and turned to leave.

"I'll keep you updated then, Ducky." She said as the doors closed behind her. Ducky returned to his seat. Ziva left the area in search of coffee and food.

***

It was an hour later when both Nurse Emma and Doctor Pitt returned to the waiting room. Emma had kept them updated like she promised. Pitt sat down in front of the Team, and Callen and Hanna had came in too. "Well, I've got him stablized, and the blood clotted. He's heavily medicated. He woke up once during the transfusion and asked for Gibbs, and I told him he'd be there when he awoke again. The ribs weren't cracked, but they did suffer a hairline fracture. His lungs are okay. I've got him on antibiotics in case the x-rays couldn't reveal the underlying damage. There's no fluids. What happened, Agent Gibbs? It looks like he was used as a punching bag." Gibbs glared, but answered.

"That's exactly what happened. The case we were working had required him to go undercover, and so he was captured and used like a punching bag until we got him back. The suspects are arrested. They will be charged with attempting to kill a Federal Agent along with the other charges that are on them." Gibbs stated, and waited for Pitt's response. He muttered, 'Hope they're charged with more than that,' causing Gibbs to give a small grin at that.

"Well, I can allow Ducky and Gibbs to visit for now, but the others will have to come back tomorrow when he's awake. We have a cot already set up for you, Agent Gibbs." Gibbs smiled a little more at that. He turned to his team first.

"Go back to the Yard and tell Chegwidden I'll be there later to update him." They nodded, and left. He turned to Hanna and Callen. "I'd like for you two to stay until tomorrow. Got some explaining to do about those looks you've been giving each other."

"You don't have a problem with it, Gibbs, do you?" Callen had asked.

"No. Just wanted to know if you love him as much, Sam." Hanna nodded, wrapping an arm over Callen's shoulders. He looked around, noting the empty waiting area- though Ducky was standing in the hall with Pitt, waiting- and gave a quick peck on Callen's cheek. They broke apart, shook Gibbs' hand, and left to book a hotel. Gibbs stepped out into the hallway and followed the Doctors to the ICU floor. "Thought you said you'd stablized him."

"He still needs the attention of doctors, Jethro. Pitt said they have him on antibiotics as a precaution." He stopped when Pitt stopped in front of room 319.

"Ignore the machines. They're monitoring his lungs. The important thing is, is that he needs someone to be here when he wakes up, and I thought you'd two were the likely candidates. How's Agent Todd?" He said, causing both Ducky and Gibbs to wince.

"She was killed during a case." Gibbs croaked out. It was still hard to talk about Kate. Pitt winced too.

"She was a sweet partner to Tony, and it was great she kept him company when we found that only he had the plague." Ducky and Gibbs nodded, and Pitt opened the door. There layed DiNozzo, machines hooked up to his chest, and a nasal canula draped over his ears. His chest rose and fell with small stutters, but there weren't any blue lights, so Gibbs sat down next to his bed. Ducky stood at Gibbs' shoulder and watched him grasp DiNozzo's left hand in his own. DiNozzo shifted a little, but didn't wake. Pitt left them alone to check on other patients.

"That bastard Mendez is going away for a long time, Tony. You didn't cause this. You had no way of knowing that they were following you. Ducky will be here, I have to meet with A.J. Chegwidden to discuss the case. You just heal. Then we're having a huge talk when you're awake about keeping that transmitter so I know where you're at- at all times. I'll even have you set up with a backup one." He placed a chaste kiss on DiNozzo's forehead, nodded to Ducky as he headed for the door. "I'll be back in three hours, Duck. Call me if he wakes up before then." Ducky nodded as Gibbs left. He headed for the bus stop.

***

A.J. Chegwidden had stood up in the conference room along with Harmon Rabb, Jr. when Gibbs and Vance walked in. "Ah, Agent Jethro Gibbs, Director Leon Vance. What can Harm and I do for NCIS today?"

"Normally we wouldn't consider you, Admiral, but this causes for you to be here. Carlos Mendez has been tracked on and off throughout the years, and we've finally caught him with the help of Gibbs' Second in Command, Agent Anthony DiNozzo, Jr. Gibbs will outline the case with you, and I want a debriefing of Agent DiNozzo's status when you're done, Gibbs." Gibbs nodded and Vance left, leaving him to do as ordered.

"We were asked for help by Agent Afloat Stan Burley. There was a dead Marine found downtown, and he e-mailed us when he heard it was a Marine that was stationed on his ship, USS Enterprise. The Marine got curious with the shipment cargo and had been murdered over the contents- drugs. LSD. We sent Tony undercover to flush Carlos' men out, and in the end we even caught El Jefe himself. What I like to know is what charges you'll bring him up on."

"Standard charges will be 'Attempting to kill a Fed', 'Attempt to distribute drugs', 'Smuggling said contents', and a few others. How is DiNozzo, Gibbs?" Rabb had rattled off some of the charges before asking about Gibbs' SiC.

"He's out of surgery recuperating. He's gonna have nightmares from this one. They did a number on him. If we hadn't gotten him to Bethesda, he would have bled to death. I'm hoping those charges will stick." He watched as Chegwidden wrapped a possessive arm around Rabb's waist.

"We'll do the hard work. Get back to your Agent, Jethro."

"Will he need to testify?"

"No. He won't need to. Take care, Jethro. You need someone in your life." Gibbs shook his head and smiled ruefully at both men.

"You take care of each other. I'll see you both again soon." He shook both their hands and left for Vance's office. "DiNozzo's stablized. He was a walking bruise, and we almost lost him from bleeding profusely. I would like to submit a two week leave sir, so I can help him recooperate. He's gonna need help getting around his apartment. I'll have Ducky visit and keep you updated, Leon."

"Fill this out, and I'll grant it. Have Ducky fill out the medical leave for DiNozzo so I can see his professional side of the injuries DiNozzo sustained." Gibbs nodded, quickly filled out the form, handed it over to Vance to file with HR and took the medical leave form to Ducky at Bethesda. Before he left the Yard though, he was waylayed by his team who shot him worried looks. Abby was the first to speak.

"How did he look, Gibbs?"

"He still looked banged up when I saw him. Ducky's with him, and I was going back there. We're taking a two week leave, so Tim you're in charge. Cold cases unless Vance states otherwise. You will get other teams to back you up if you get leads. And you will keep me updated. I'm gonna help Tony recuperate with Ducky's help. Ducky will keep you updated on Tony. Now, I have to get back. Anymore questions?" When they shook their heads 'no', he gave Abby a peck on her cheek, and a hug after nodding to his Agents. He left them, and headed for his car. He drove, thinking about the conversation he planned on having with DiNozzo.

***

He arrived at the hospital, parked the car and strolled into the hospital like a man on a mission after stopping for coffee on the way in. He carried his cup, and stopped outside DiNozzo's door. He watched as Ducky spoke quietly to the sleeping man. Gibbs squared his shoulders, and walked into the room briskly. He sat down opposite of Ducky, and nodded for him to continue when Ducky trailed off. "...and he didn't even know where the soap was!" He chuckled to himself. Gibbs shook his head, smiling softly at Ducky's tale. "Well Jethro, how's Chegwidden and Rabb doing?"

"They're together now. And both seemed willing to help bring our case to a close. Now, Vance wants you to fill out this medical leave form for Tony. We're taking a two week leave so Tony could heal properly. How's your mother doing?" Gibbs handed the form over to Ducky.

"She's deteriating still, Jethro. The Corgies miss her though. She insists when I visit that the clock on her wall is going in reverse. I'll fill this out and give it to Vance when I return there later." Gibbs nodded, and got comfortable in the long chair, grasping DiNozzo's right hand, being careful not to disturb the IV in it.

"Come on, Tony wake up soon." He whispered as he squeezed the hand in his. There was a small squeeze in return, and an eye popped open.

"Boss?" He whispered.

"Yeah, I'm here, DiNozzo. So's Ducky. You were beaten nearly to death." He snatched a cup of water that Emma must have sat on the nightstand while he was at the Yard. Making sure DiNozzo was in a more comfortable angle to drink the water, he held the cup until DiNozzo pushed it away. "Pitt was your doctor again. Said he's glad your lungs weren't compromised. Can you tell me what happened?" For a moment it looked like DiNozzo was about to fall back to sleep, but he cleared his vision and looked straight at Gibbs as he told him what happened.

"I fucked up, Boss. One of Mendez's men followed me to the drop, but didn't see me toss the tape, just saw the recorder on my abdomen. They knocked me out, and I awoke chained to the ceiling of their plane. Mendez tried to get me to spill what I knew and my name. I refused everytime. I kept thinking of you though, and kept my mouth shut. Once you found me, I knew I was in good hands. I did not mean to blackout, Boss."

"Jethro."

"What?!"

"My name is Jethro, Tony. Ducky can you give us a half-hour. Please?" Ducky smiled and patted Gibbs' and DiNozzo's shoulders, then left. "We need to talk. I came to a decision that you and I aren't as straight as we seem." DiNozzo laughed a little at that.

"The only farthest I've gotten was a blowjob with McGee on Abby's dare. Voss doesn't count because Voss killed Pacci, and let's not go there on why I hate myself for kissing him. Have you ever been with a man?"

"Was with Stan and Callen years ago. Stan wanted more, but left when he got the transfer to the USS Enterprise, and I was with Callen after Stephanie in Moscow. I was on top, but with you I'll compromise. You work on healing, and I'll see if Pitt will release you into my care tomorrow." Pitt walked in with Emma and Ducky twenty minutes later. Ducky resumed his seat, and they listened to Pitt ramble off to DiNozzo his injuries. Pitt then turned to Gibbs. "Can he be released to me tomorrow, Brad?" Pitt didn't even blink.

"Of course. He'll need his prescriptions filled and extra bandages for his more severe injuries, but I don't see any other problems with his lungs. Nurse Emma will give you his sign out forms in the morning. I'll get you a fresh cup of coffee, Gibbs. The nutrition doctor will be by to get your meal order."

"That won't be necessary, Brad. Gibbs is getting me pizza. Right, Boss?" Gibbs rolled his eyes, but acquiesed his Agent's choice of food. The food always did suck, and even he knew that. Once Gibbs had the pizza delivered, he brought it back up to DiNozzo's room, and they ate it in silence. Ducky had retired to the cafe for his dinner, so that left the two new lovers alone. Pitt brought Gibbs a new cup of coffee, and Emma brought DiNozzo some juice, also replacing the cup of water with fresher water.

"I'll see you in the morning, men. Call me if you want more pain killers, or you need anything else." DiNozzo smiled and nodded. She left the two men to talk about what they thought should happen in their new relationship.

"I'm giving up my apartment soon, Boss. I've been staying at your place alot, Jethro." He corrected himself after he called Gibbs 'Boss'. "The lease is up in three weeks. Think you can fit me in your home?"

"The spare room is no longer a bedroom, but my room's big enough to fit you."

"Your couch is staying, but if your bed isn't comfy, it's going. My futon can go in the den. You're not starting another boat, are you?" Gibbs shook his head.

"Probably not for a while. I'm gonna make you a DVD center for your movies though. Wanna help?"

"When I'm better. Feels like my arms are strained. The left shoulder is hurting again." He called Emma back for more pain meds. Gibbs waited until DiNozzo settled in to sleep before he decided to kiss his SiC on the mouth.

"Just a taste, Tony. Sleep. Heal. I'll be here when you wake up." Ducky came back to the room and told Gibbs he was leaving for the evening. "See you tomorrow, Duck."

"Evening, Jethro. Get some sleep too." Gibbs nodded as Ducky left. He kissed DiNozzo's sleeping form again, then got up to sleep on the cot. Emma had placed a sheet and a pillow on it earlier. The heat was up to keep her patient from getting a chill.

Chapter 3

DiNozzo was released to Gibbs' care by noon the next day, and Gibbs drove to the pharmacy at a more sedate pace, aware that DiNozzo was still hurting from the injuries he sustained. It was a few days later when Gibbs was awakened by DiNozzo's whimpering. He woke DiNozzo up gently.

"They're not here, Tony. You're safe. We have them locked up. Sleep, love. I'm here." DiNozzo turned into Gibbs' chest, and settled down. Gibbs stayed up, and stroked DiNozzo's sweaty back. Both men were sleeping in the nude, but neither got pass a handjob or blowjob due to DiNozzo's injuries were still fresh. Gibbs told DiNozzo not until next week will he go farther than the occasional blowjob or handjob. DiNozzo complained about overprotective Bastards but acquiesced to Gibbs' wishes. He may have been a virgin to men, (Voss still didn't count in his book, and the blowjob he gave McGee was as far as he got), but he couldn't wait for Gibbs to be his first. Gibbs stroked DiNozzo's back until he fell back asleep again. By morning, DiNozzo seemed more perkier, so Gibbs helped him down to the living room to watch a game on his tv.

"My flatscreen's gonna replace that. The stand's big enough, but won't block the entry way to the dining room. I'm updating that kitchen too. Needs color, too bland with the white. Keep the counters and cabinets. Giving you an updated fridge and microwave too." Gibbs grunted in response. He chose not to drink a beer since DiNozzo was on pain meds.

"You can change anything you like, but don't overdo it." DiNozzo flashed him a hurt look.

"The kitchen's bland, Jethro. It's too white. I was thinking of painting the walls cream. I was gonna bring in a energy saving fridge and microwave, but they'll match the kitchen. The cabinets can be painted tan. That's all I plan to due to it. This will happen next month, of course, once I'm moved in." He decided to give his bed to Ziva, since she seemed to find it more comfortable then hers when she last visited him and sat on it to test its comfort. They watched the game and did a normal routine of the day. Soon DiNozzo was drifting asleep, so Gibbs woke him up, and helped him up to bed. Gibbs decided to go to bed early himself.

***

It was finally a week later, and Gibbs decided that he wanted to take DiNozzo out for dinner and a movie. He was getting used to watching movies with someone. Dinner and the movie over, and he lead a contented DiNozzo up to their bedroom, which was lit with candles. He stripped himself of his clothes, and helped DiNozzo divest himself of his own. He gently layed his Agent down, rubbing his body slowly along DiNozzo's. DiNozzo was moaning softly, showing that he was enjoying himself. Gibbs reached over to his nightstand for the tube of lube. "You're clean, and so am I. Do I need this or not?" He held up a condom, and DiNozzo shook his head. "Glad we're on the same page for that. I'm not gonna hurt you, and your first time is gonna be good. Promise." All DiNozzo did was nod in agreement. Gibbs squeezed a generous amount onto his cock first, slicking it up, then used some to begin stretching DiNozzo open. "Relax. It burns now, but only for a little bit." DiNozzo made a mewling sound in the back of his throat when Gibbs finally got three fingers in and was touching his prostate. Feeling that DiNozzo was stretched to accomodate his girth, he lined up his cock, and pressed just the tip in- stopping when DiNozzo tensed. "Relax, I only have the head in." DiNozzo took a deep breath which caused Gibbs to slide in to the hilt. He tagged DiNozzo's prostate on the first thrust, and he moaned. They were face to face, and Gibbs wrapped DiNozzo's legs around his waist while shoving his arms under DiNozzo's shoulders to brace himself over him.

"Jesus... Fuck, you're BIG. More, please." He cried out, wanting Gibbs to move. Gibbs obliged, thrusting slowly, letting DiNozzo feel him pulsing with every thrust. They were like that for a while. DiNozzo moaning as Gibbs thrusted slowly, tagging DiNozzo's prostate on each inward thrust. It occured to him that nothing else existed but the former virgin below him, moaning and crying out with every thrust. The pleasure was soon building, and he moved his right hand down to DiNozzo's cock to help bring him off. With every thrust he would rub DiNozzo's cock, making sure he brought him near the edge before sending him over it. "JETHRO!" DiNozzo shouted as his come covered both Gibbs' hand and their chests. Gibbs waited out DiNozzo's orgasm, then began thrusting in earnest. The tightening of DiNozzo's hole was what brought him off.

"Tony..." He moaned as he filled DiNozzo with liquid heat. He collapsed on top of DiNozzo, and DiNozzo wrapped his arms around him, to exhausted to get up to put the candles out. Gibbs began snoring softly anyway, and DiNozzo followed suit. It was in the middle of the night when both men stirred, and Gibbs gently pulled out of DiNozzo, checked his hole to make sure he wasn't rough with him before getting up to put the candles out and clean up. Once both he and DiNozzo were cleaned up, he pulled the covers up over them once he was back in bed and fell asleep clutching DiNozzo to him. DiNozzo kissed his chest and fell asleep smiling to himself.
