Aiji watched Jun quietly from across the room. Jun had been acting odd lately and Aiji was worried about his friend. Jun always came of as energetic and cheerful, but when he thought no one was looking his shoulders would slump and his smile faded. Aiji hated to see his friend hide whatever his pain was; Aiji decided, then, he would go to Jun's apaato that night and find out what was wrong.

"That's it for today," Kirito announced, beginning to pick up the many sheets of paper scattered around he table in the middle of the room. He pushed black hair out of his face, leaving the studio quickly. Aiji smirked when Kohta hurried to put his bass up so that he could catch up to Kirito. Who did they think they were fooling?

"Hey Jun," Aiji said as Takeo left and Jun had just slung the strap of his guitar over his shoulder. "Mind if I come over to your place tonight?" he smiled at Jun, hoping the other wouldn't come up with some lame excuse to say no. Aiji knew Jun wasn't doing anything; Jun always went straight home after practice lately.

Jun blinked and then grinned. His eyes were almost sparkling like they used too when Aiji had first met him. He nodded, grabbing his jacket and pulling it over his sweater. "Definitely! I'll fix supper for us!" he said before darting out of the studio and hurrying towards the subway station. The air was crisp and cool, but the wind was biting cold.

Aiji watched him from the studio window before taking his guitar and going to his car. He turned on the radio, singing with it absently as he wove his way through traffic towards home. He went inside his apaato and took his shoes off, going to change and freshen up before going to Jun's. He couldn't help but be excited about visiting the other. Something in him always loved seeing Jun; it was something more deep and thrilling than simply seeing a friend, but Aiji brushed that detail aside. Even if it did mean something, he knew Jun didn't feel the same.

Jun hurried home from the subway station, looking around his apaato, almost frantically kicking his shoes off. He moved to the bedroom and changed out of his sweater into a sweatshirt. With a quick glance at the clock he knew he needed to hurry. Quickly, he went to the bathroom, picking up the assortment of razors off the edge of his bathtub and putting them in a box and then under the sink in a cabinet.

Jun sighed, running his hands over his covered arms lightly. He shook his head, clearing it as he went into the kitchen; he still had to make dinner. He opened the refrigerator door and stared at the sparse contents. It would be better to order pizza. His stomach turned at the thought but he knew Aiji loved pizza. And he loved... Jun shook his head again and picked up the phone, ordering a couple pizzas. HE couldn't let himself think about how he felt, especially when Aiji was coming over. No that wouldn't do at all.

The guitarist yawned slightly and sat on the couch in the living room, turning on the TV. Aiji would be there soon and hopefully the pizza would arrive first so it would all be ready for him. Jun smiled some, almost a completely genuine smile. He missed hanging out with Aiji; he simply missed being near the other away from work. He admitted that it was his fault that they had grown apart like they had. His mental stability was wavering and he knew it. He didn't want anyone else to see how he was falling apart; he didn't want Aiji to know. It was Jun's secret. Aiji could never know...because Jun wasn't good enough and he wouldn't be able to handle Aiji hating him.

It was about then that the door rang and Jun jumped up to get it, grabbing the money off a table and hurrying to answer the door; both Aiji and the pizza man were standing there. Jun gave Aiji a guilty smile and handed the pizza man the money. Aiji helped Jun to take the pizzas into the kitchen. "I'm sorry, I didn't have time to cook, Aiji-kun," Jun said sheepishly. "I know you like pizza...so I ordered us some. It's better than my cooking anyway," he rambled, seeming almost nervous.

Aiji watched Jun and smiled contently, ruffling the other's hair. "Don't worry about it; pizza's great," Aiji assured, moving to grab two plates out of Jun's cabinet and serving them both a couple slices. "Let's watch a movie," he said, grinning. "And beer is the perfect side to have for tonight," he declared grabbing a couple beers from the refrigerator on the way to the living room. "God, what the hell are you watching? Are you a teenage girl or something?" Aiji chided, turning the channel from its previous movie searching for something more suitable: a horror movie. "Look, The Others is on," Aiji said with a grin, he knew Jun hated scary movies and that the other would always get scared and grab onto Aiji, moving close to him in fear. It was a dirty way to get Jun closer to him and also to get him drunk so the other would talk. Aiji knew if he came out and asked Jun straight, he would never get an answer. Aiji sat on the soft carpet in front of the TV and grinned at Jun. "Come on," he said, patting the place beside him.

"Eeto..." Jun hesitated, looking at the movie that was starting. He could tell all ready that it would scare him way too much; Aiji knew he hated these kinds of movies... He sighed inwardly and sat down beside the blond. He would do anything Aiji asked him too. He leaned his head against Aiji's shoulder, knowing the action could be deemed as simply friendship and thankful for that. He began taking small bites of his pizza. His stomach revolted against him but he ignored it; he had to eat or Aiji would notice something was off. He quickly took a long drink of his beer, wincing as it burned his throat. Jun really couldn't take alcohol well and with Aiji here he wasn't so sure he should be drinking but now that he had taken a drink he knew he wouldn't stop.

The movie progressed at snail's pace it seemed, but Jun was guzzling down his beer. It really had been too long since he had gotten drunk. He stood up haphazardly when he had finished, wanting another but his plan was thwarted when Aiji grabbed his hand, pulling him down. He landed in the blonde's lap. "What are you doing?" he slurred, his head falling against the other's shoulder.

"What's wrong, Jun?" Aiji whispered into the other's ear. He too had been drinking, enough to affect his inhibitions. The blonde ran his fingers through Jun's brown hair, resting on the back of the other's neck. "Why are you so withdrawn from me," Aiji continued, lips trailing down Jun's cheek. He didn't feel how Jun's body had tensed at the feel of his lips and went on until he was fully kissing Jun.

Jun let out a sound his hands coming up to push weakly against Aiji's chest, turning his head from the kiss. "Don't..." he said, even drunk his inhibitions hadn't completely dissipated. "I'm not...you're too...I can't," he slurred drunkenly, stumbling away from the other. His lips were still burning from the breif kiss, his heart palpatating erractically. "I'm no good...please leave..."

Aiji stared at Jun's childlike face as it became streaked with tears. "Jun..." he said, standing more steadily than the other had; he pulled Jun close to him, catching the wince when his hand grabbed Jun's arms. "You're more than good, Jun," Aiji whispered, tilting Jun's chin up to look in the doe-brown eyes. The blonde tilted his head down, bestowing Jun with a soft kiss, almost seeming to worship the shorter's mouth with his own. "Never say those things about yourself again," he instructed, running his fingers through the other's hair.

Jun stared at Aiji in shock as he felt the tender kiss, counteracting the pain from Aiji's grip on his arm. He moaned lowly, squeezing his eyes shut. "I...Aiji..." he whispered, shaking his head. He pulled away again, sitting on the couch. "Can you please leave, Aiji?" Jun forced out, staring at the ground. He blinked back tears in his eyes, wanting to run back to Aiji. The other's kiss and touch were everything he wanted and needed, but he wasn't good enough for Aiji.

"Why do you cut yourself, Jun? Why are you pushing everyone away? Why are you running away from me, Jun?" Aiji said, His voice was trembling as he tried to hold back his boiling emotions. "What have I done to make you act like this?" He watched Jun, moving closer to him. He caressed the other's cheek, lifting his head up again. "Don't you know how much I love you..." he blurted out. His eyes widened slightly at his sudden declaration, but he knew it was true.

Jun blinked back more tears that threatened to fall. "I'm...I'm not good enough. I...started cutting myself a few months ago...when Kirito started to kiss you and all that in the concerts and just...all the time...I...you acted like you liked it and wanted him. I was jealous and sad and I haven't been able to stop myself..." he whispered brokenly. "I'm sorry, Aiji. I didn't want you to know...I don't want you to hate me," Jun went on, trying to stop crying.

Aiji pulled Jun close to him. "I could never hate you, Jun. I love you," he murmured into the other's ear. Aiji kissed Jun softly, holding him clsoe so he couldn't pull away. "Please, don't run away from me anymore, Jun," he urged agaisnt the smaller man's lips.

Jun didn't resist Aiji's kisses now, instead returning them shyly. "I love you too," he finally said, feeling Aiji's cheek nuzzle his own cheek before pulling back to kiss again. "I'll try not to disappoint you..." Jun whispered against Aiji's lips.

"Disappointed me is impossible. You, Jun, are my precious jewl. I promise I'll protect you and love you for all time."

THE END
