I'm thinking of taking up the art of swinging large and sharp pieces of iron at people. Do you have any suggestions of where I should go to learn this in this great state?
I'm assuming that I'll have to go through a fencing school of some sort.
What kind of fencing/swordfighting are you interested in?
Eastern stuff (which I don't know much about in WA) or Western stuff? And with western stuff, are you more interested in the martial artsy aspect (ie effectively doing the whole I want to go hit people and don't really want to spend kazillions on dressing like a fop) or the re-enactmenty stuff (which is good if that's what floats your boat)
I prefer that what I do be as effective as possible. So I suppose I'm more inclined to martial artsy than foppishness (seriously could anyone see me as a fop?) but mostly I see it as a way to have fun while getting somewhat fitter than I currently am. Which is to say that I wheeze when walking from the lounge to the bedroom.
