Have you taken up any studies? Apart from the fact it's a good thing to do in general (imo), and it looks good on the resume ("yes, I wasn't working for x months because I was doing a masters degree in nuclear physics"), it is also psychologically very helpful during a lull in employment...

As much as I'd like to, I can't afford that right this moment. Got bills to pay, and getting a student loan is not really feasible. Especially one which ranges in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Well, I wouldn't suggest an expensive up-front enrolment under those circumstances. But places like Chifley offer relatively inexpensive MBAs (for example), and Charles Sturt University (through IT Masters) has a range of free online courses which, whilst not accredited, use the same material.

We don't want to grow up when we're kids. We want to remain kids, only without being told what to do. If we knew what growing up really was, we'd run like hell.

Growing up would be fine if it weren't for all the downgrinding stuff, like keeping/finding jobs and paying mortgages. Are you covered for the latter for a while?
