A solidly constructed 3-hole punch

Cheap, 1 subject notebooks
College-ruled notebook paper
A metric fuckton of highlighters
Post-its
Lots of pens & mechanical pencils
Graph paper (for math)
A planner
A ruler (and/or protractor)
A graphing calculator
Also, make sure you keep your school books in very good condition from when you buy them, and don't open any shrink-wrapped packages you buy until you determine you actually need them (you will not be able to get a return or sell them back otherwise!). Once buy-back season rolls around (end of the semester, FYI) you can sell your books back to the school bookstore for a decent amount of money.
You can use your laptop to take notes, if you're quick to type. Just make sure you have a good high-quality bag to carry it in without damaging it.
I read The Hero and the Crown when I was in 8th grade. I really loved it then.

Yep, got the bag from Best Buy! It is quite awesome. I think I am more than likely going to take notes on my laptop, seeing as I type faster than I write. XDXD
