Oh I love this so much - and it definitely stings. You can see him twist like a worm on a hook throughout, and it really brings across how he feels.

Valentine would have stopped wearing the hat if he asked, but she would have hid it and refused to disclose where it was before she let them burn it. She'd be pissed as hell at Mav and still feel horrifically awkward, but she still cares about him too. And has sentimental attachment to the hat.
