Well, as many of you knoe, I wen to the Philippines for a month under a study abroad, and boy did it open my eyes.  I learned quite a bit, but I got more from the experience than just that.

And for those of you who knew me really well, you knoe that I had no idea what I was doing with my life.  Now I do.

Look into various charitiable money-giving foundations, like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Figure out how people petition those foundations, and go from there.

Also, look into how other charitable schools have been formed, and the successes and failures they've had. (Oprah's school in Africa for girls comes to mind.)

Sadly, I know no multi-millionaires to send your way.

However, I would love to know more about your experience!

*nodnodnod* Yeah, the problem with looking for donations from and for charitable organizations is that you have to have the (501c3?), which basically allows businesses to give to you without being taxed on the money they're giving. However, when I went to look this up, it apparently costs $500.00 just to send in the application, as well as a bunch of paperwork. Now, I'll be doing that eventually, but in the meantime, (as in, I don't have the $500.00) I've resorted back to the tried and true door to door. *sighs*

But Oprah's school for girls in Africa would be a great place to look--thanks!

As far as my experiences? Damn...were should I start? I've seen some of the most incredible things in the world, and things that broke my heart.

I think I may just write up a post tomorrow morning explaining all that...or parts of it. All of it would take a really long time, ^ ^

Well heck, you can't get a school created overnight! Start with research. Use those research skills I started teaching you, and that you've hopefully improved on since, and continue building from there!

I specifically mentioned Oprah's school, though, because not only does it share some similarities with your vision, but it also ran into some huge problems recently.

Another left-field idea for possible contributors--petition rich actors who have filmed movies in the Phillipenes. Maybe they've seen the same things you have and felt the same way. (And actors do love charity projects...)
