So I've decided that I want to try being at least a vegetarian if not a vegan. Today is my 2nd day without meat. I don't know when the last time I had fried food was. And so far today I haven't had any dairy products. I'm gonna work on getting meat out of my life first and every week, I'm gonna get rid of something else. good luck. tofu is disgusting. it's not the taste, but the texture. also, it is good for about two days. i only found it palatable when fried with sausage. it tends to absorb the taste of whatever it is cooked with.

one thing you should know is that going for a long time without dairy can make you lactose intolerant. not eating beef for a long time can make you unable to digest it. if you want to do this for real, make sure it's a long term goal. and check out your local produce stand for fresher foods and lower prices. the darker or richer the color of the vegetable or fruit, the healthier it is. chicken is pretty healthy when cooked right. olive oil or grape seed oil is good for you. i've been eating more carrots, bananas, and salads. it does feel good, i'll tell you.

give my love to Sommer and Avery. miss you. i hope you can come to the shower. and i wish i had the money to visit. maybe in the fall.

I like the texture of the soft tofu. And I know that tofu absorbs the taste of whatever it is cooked with, so if I'm not eating meat it'll be harder to find something yummy to cook it with. ^_^ lol ( ... )

Wow, that's great that you are turning a new leaf and feeling better. But I would probably go easy on the soy. I've heard good things about almond milk.

Anyway, here's a link about how the soy industry skews the health benefits of soy. I know there's a really good one that I saw someone post on the Kellymom's facebook feed, but I doubt I'd ever find it again.
