When you visit other countries you are supposed to be respectful of their culture. Part of the North American culture is the tipping. Don't be an ignorant jerk tourist who thinks he is better than adapating to the culture. You wouldn't do that in a country like India - so why the US?

It's just annoying. Tipping in Australia is totally different than in other countries. I get sick of people bitching about it.
