State of the RP -- Someday I'll write a real entry.

Oct 16, 2011 19:26

character: Ion
series: Tales of the Abyss
tagging priority: ■■■■■: He's the only character I have right now and lately I've been able to get to his tags rather quickly. I'm still a little slower on pre-hiatus back-tags though.
muse strength: ■■■■■: He's stronger than he has been in a long time! Most of my slowness is motivation related.
cast strength: ■■■■□: ANISUUU~ Some of the same issues I mentioned last time I did this are still around, but overall, I am very happy with my cast. |D
plotting capabilities: ■■■■□: THERE ARE A LOT. I have a lot of plot ideas in my head, many of them I still need to start talking to people about, and most of them can just go ahead and happen at any time. This might jump to a 5 if the Original!Ion apper I spoke to last month is still planning on apping. B)
general fun level: ■■■□□: This is my only real issue with him right now. The kitten!plot is fun and all, but even that can get a little repetitive. I feel like I need to do something to shake him up a little... not like, do something mean or horrible to him that'll he'll just get over with time, but throw something in his life to make some kind of change in his routine. I really don't want him to stagnate or I'll risk getting bored with him. ):
likelihood of drop: ■□□□□: Only in regards to the stagnation issue. Though I still stand, if I ever did drop Ion, I'd probably be leaving the game too. Which is pretty unlikely. |D

Now, one thing I know for sure is that I need to app someone. I don't like only having one character. It risks getting burned out on that character, which is one reason why the kitten!plot thing is feeling repetitive. I have nothing else to go to when I'm not feeling the threads, which is probably why I've been like OMG OPEN MEMESSS lately. |D And since I'm not entirely sure if I could handle three+ characters, I don't wanna take a risk in apping more than one of the characters I'm considering. SO LET'S WEIGH IN LIKE THIS:

character: Aang
series: Avatar: The Last Airbender
tagging priority: ■■■□□: He's not in the game, so the one thread I do have with him is going slowly. Part of that is because his icons expired and I'm too lazy to call and have my card unlocked just to pay for more. But it's mostly due to...
muse strength: ■■□□□: ...the fact that I really, really need to canon review. I'm starting to think his voice is dying on me. The few threads I've done with him since I started playing him again just don't sound the same as they did when I first started playing him last year. And the cast at Luceti is so amazingly good. I'd hate to stick them with a subpar Aang. |D Or worse, bring one in only to drop him a month or so later, like all the other previous Aangs.
cast strength: ■■■■■: DID I MENTION THE CAST WAS AMAZING? /);A;/) You dream about casts like this, man. I'm shocked that Aang is even still open!
plotting capabilities: ■■■■□: I definitely have more than enough stuff to work with just by bringing him in. I even have a few characters I know I'd like to seek out CR with!
general fun level: ■■□□□: He's fun when I have his voice, but kinda stressful when I don't. ): It's probably a bit worse since he's a main character, too. I feel like if I watched the first season again, I'd be a little more okay. His voice is strongest in that season since he gets a lot of the main focus...
likelihood of app: ■■■□□: ...but there is still that worry that his voice will only come and go. Ion's voice is strong enough right now that I think I could handle having a character I'm a little more unsure about (meaning: a character who'd I'd focus on a lot to try and improve) but if I apped Aang, I'd want to keep him in the never-drop pile. And I don't think I could do that when I'm so shaky with his voice right now. So a lot of this is dependent on whether I can fit in that canon review and see if it sticks.

character: Cheyenne
series: Original
tagging priority: □□□□□: I've always gotten the feeling that playing an OC on LJ outside of a game requires a patience I just don't have. So she just doesn't exist right now.
muse strength: ■■■■■: Of all my OCs, her voice is the strongest. This on top of the fact that her voice was born in my head.
cast strength: □□□□□: CAST? WHAT CAST.
plotting capabilities: ■■■■■: I still think she has a lot of plotting potential, much of which I never took advantage of the first time around. I'd like to update her story to a point where, upon arriving in Luceti, she'd be able to just start off with a bang and have something serious go down. Any kind of update would also change a few things about how she thinks and feels, much of which would conflict with the memories of how she felt when she was in Luceti.
general fun level: ■■■■□: I miss playing her like whoa. ): Also, it just feels strange for me not to be playing one of my OCs. I used to do only OC RP, after all.
likelihood of app: ■■■□□: Well, she is pretty much in the if-I-don't-app-Aang slot, since like I said, I can't do another two months of just one character. The only downside is if I do canon update her, her story past her previous appearance isn't entirely set in stone. I also wanted her update to include an alteration in her appearance (shorter hair) which would involve drawing new icons. I suppose I could bring her in from the same time and canon update her during the next cycle, but that seems way too roundabout. |D

character: Kari Nijihi / Hoshikyo
series: Original
tagging priority: □□□□□: Same deal with Cheyenne.
muse strength: ■■■□□: A little on the weak-side for an OC. A lot of her personality is still in the works. This is a little more complicated for her, though, since both her personas have distinct personalities. She's a magical girl whose existence has fused with that of an ancient spirit from another world who is said to be infinitely powerful... but since Kari doesn't know how to use her powers, she's not. :'D What she doesn't know is that the spirit is slowly beginning to take control, which is causing a bleed in their personalities; she thinks her outgoing self as Hoshikyo is because she has no reason to feel the same insecurities she does as herself. IT'S COMPLICATED. |D
cast strength: □□□□□: CAST? WHAT CAST.
plotting capabilities: ■■■■■: I think she has a lot of potential. Travelling between worlds is something she's used to, and her canon is more or less centered around fourth walling (since her existence is fictional in almost every world she visits, and likewise, every world exists in a fictional form in her own world). She'd probably assume she came to Luceti the same way she usually travels betwen worlds, and then just get worried when she realized she didn't come here, she was brought there.
general fun level: ■■■■□: She really is a ton of fun to play, and she's one of my favorite OCs. I might be a little more self-conscious with her though, since I don't think she's nearly as "original" as Cheyenne and I don't want to see people compare the two of them.
likelihood of app: ■■□□□: Haaah. Writing her app would be a pain since so much of her story is undeveloped. If I had an app written for her though, she'd probably rule out Cheyenne. I've really wanted to play her for awhile.

state of the what now?, gdit malnosso, i should be doing homework, rping is fun!
