I want to know your thoughts of the only competition that really matters. Forget the olympics, screw those professional sporting events.. LET'S TALK MOVIES!!!

I am ye stick in ye olde mudde. I have yet to see ANY of these movies. Not even the one I already own on DVD (I see you there, UP).

Why isn't Star Trek on here?
I saw that one on a download.

If it makes you feel better, Star Trek isn't in the categories I posted but it does have noms for Make Up, sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects. Four Categories for a sci-fi film is pretty good.

Whoever thinks AVATAR is a good movie needs to be taken out back and shot.

To be fair- "well made" doesn't always mean good.
And neither does nominated...
It is one of the few on the lists I have not yet seen.
I anticipate it to win some of the technical fields but nothing in the broader categories.

I need to get out more. I think it's funny I've seen more animated films on the list than live action ones.

Funny, it is my lack of "getting out" which has allowed me to see so many of the films in this year's nom pool...
And I love that you have seen more of the animated films than the live action ones. :-)

Personally I'm rooting for 'Inglourious' but outside of Best Supporting actor I don't think it'll have a chance.
