"Useful?" But... what decides usefulness? And why would they bring people here who they didn't think were useful to being with?

They decide to make themselves useful to their fellow man, and poof, they're subtracted. And they bring us here for their entertainment. Didn't you notice?

I never really found out why any of this stuff even happens. But... even if they are helpful.. or useful, it seems like they'd be taken away anyway. Not that... well, not that anyone really belongs here anyway.

Well, yeah! I mean, there are things that don't completely... like, who comes and goes, for instance. But taking people to and from a world really isn't natural. It has to throw off the order of nature, and erm... well, I think maybe one way they keep it balanced is by how many people come and go. If they want to bring new people, they have to take others away first.

Unfortunately, seems it wouldn't make sense for them to do things the easy way, and give us a warning when people are going to be sent back.

Seems they've been doing it an awful lot lately, though.
