people change, vanessa. it's possible that tim has changed from the person he was in the past. i wouldn't let what the opinions of others hold too much of a priority in your relationship with tim. i do advise that you keep your eyes open-- you know, stay aware if he's acting funny in any way or being anything like the supposed 'old manwhore tim' you've heard about.

all in all, i think you should trust your own judgement. take the opinions of others into consideration but don't let them control your life! there's a difference between holding a grudge and watching your step, you know? since he's your everything and he's only treated you with kindness, i think that you should avoid judging him based upon his past. my 2 cents, lol. you asked for a comment.
