It's that time of the year again folks - When Katie pores over the various avenues of Hallowe'en costume, throws the idea open to the wider internet-based world, and then either doesn't go out, or plumps for Bettie Page again

Hmm, Erin (mrbnatural) posted an entry contemplating Halloween costumes, too, a while back. A friend of mine and I basically had ours pegged since the end of the previous school year. She’s obsessed with this German “gothic industrial” band, Blutengel, and more obsessed with the frontman. Not above crossdressing, she’s going to come up with a whole top hat, suit, and cane sort of look, but she needed someone to be the “Oxidising Angel”, so she roped me into doing it. She was all eager about it and offered to plan everything, including both costumes, so I was like what the hell.
...Not that that's at all helpful to you. Oops. So what costume ideas have you had in the past? That might help me get an inkling on what kind of look you might prefer.
Well the last time I dressed up (not counting last week when Vicky and I drew whiskers and black noses on our faces and pretended to be cats) was 2 years ago when I was Bettie Page for Idol Night. Hang on, no it wasn't - I was Wednesday Addams last New Years. And I used my big 1950's prom dress to go as Maria from West Side Story and Betty from Pleasantville... And I was Schooltime Sadie the last time I went out for Hallowe'en...
Is that any help?
And what in the name of all that is Liebgott-shaped is the 'oxidising angel'?
Sounds like a rather classical theme. Well, Bettie and Maria sound more on the "tame" side, if you will, while Wednesday is obviously more Halloweeny. So what kind of feel would you like to go for this year? Classy glam? Gothic/scary? Something else entirely?
Oxidising Angel is the name of Blutengel's 2005 album. That guy with the creepy eyes, Chris Pohl... yes, that's who my friend is going to be for Halloween. As for me, my "character" is going to be a bit more conceptual. The song, also by the name of Oxidising Angel, is what our idea is based on.
Foxy. But not a fox. Um, I want to look attractive and interesting but not too slutty. Two other housemates are going as Gothic Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf, so I want something that won't look crap in comparison.

I used to be successful "Papa Smurf" when I was little. Which is of no help to you, probably.
One thing *I* would like to do some time, is put my arm in a sling, and walk around with a crowbar, asking people to help me out a minute, putting stuff into my car. BUT, as my friends think I'm weird enough anyway, dressing up as Ted Bundy won't help.

In a really messed up way, of course.
