Real Racism gets diluted when people make a big deal out of a comment like DeBerry's.
It's frustrating when real Racism.. like the stuff that happened two weeks ago in Toledo.. is put on the backburner to stupid non-stories like this

While DeBerry's players were not offended there is no biological basis for a comment saying that because a person is African American they inherently run faster. Such comments feed back into the stereotype of black college students only being useful as atheletes rather than actual students and further more into the idea that white people and black people are inherently different on some biological or genetic scale, neither or which has been affirmed in any way. Racism is not something that you can quantify or somehow say that a little is okay. That is like saying to a woman that she shouldnt' care if she gets catcalled at because it's not like she got raped. It is still demeaning in the same manner if not to the same degree.

i found out today that i lack your phone number. cos my roommate scored 4 lions tickets for today, and we couldn't find a 4th mate to chill with, and i said, hold up, i know who would go. josh. hell yes. but alas. i didn't have your digits. so ultimately, my roommate ended up taking his mom, and i didn't want to be the tag-along on a mother-son outing (especially as they have just started talking to each other after a 2-year disownership on both parts)... so i stayed home... and suck.

the story is! you should email me your phone number or something. otherwise, i'll be destined to a life of sadness and misery.
