Summary: Yunho used Jaejoong in highschool, an dnow five years later they are meeting again for the first time since Jaejoong ran away. Will Jae be able to forgive Yunho?
Jaejoong was so annoyed. He was in the Hospital waiting room, waiting for Yunho to be discharged. He didn’t really see why he had to be here. It wasn’t his fault the stupid idiot fell down those steps. Although, having said that, he’d slipped on the third step enough times. But he’d never broken his arm!
He desperately wanted a shower. That boy he’d slept with had been a mistake. Changmin had talked him into this silly plan, but now he was in too deep to turn back. But after talking with Changmin, the plan had to be changed so no more one night stands!
Finally the Yunho’s doctor came out of the examining room.
“Mr Kim?”
“Yeah?”
“You’ll be pleased to know that Yunho is going to be just fine.”
“I’m jumping for joy.” The doctor didn’t notice Jaejoong’s sarcastic tone.
“He broke his arm in one place, and it should take about six weeks to heal. You’ll have to look after him. He’s counting on you, Jaejoong.”
Jaejoong groaned inwardly. Great. A fantastic way to spend six weeks.
When Yunho came out, he had a plaster cast around his arm, and was looking quite happy.
“You’re on painkillers, aren’t you?”
Yunho jumped at Jaejoong’s voice.
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m your roommate. I was the first person they called, and I couldn’t find Yoochun.”
“Let’s just go home, ok.”
After getting home, Jaejoong offered to cook Yunho a meal, which Yunho accepted. Jaejoong also brought out Yunho bedding, and helped him lie down on the sofa. He put Yunho’s favorite film on, and finished up their food. They sat in an awkward silence and ate. The food was delicious, Yunho couldn’t deny that, and it was very thoughtful of him to bring out Yunho’s duvet and pillows. But he still couldn’t look Jaejoong in the eye after what happened just a few hours ago.
And, of course, he was still mad at Jaejoong for leading him on like that. As the credits rolled up, Jaejoong muted the TV. Walking over to Yunho, he grabbed the plate on Yunho’s lap.
“Do you want a drink?”
Yunho looked at Jaejoong.
“Um, yeah. An ice tea?”
“Sure.”
A few seconds later, Jaejoong walked back with a glass, and passed it to Yunho. “Why are you being so nice to me, Jaejoong?”
“The doctor told me to.”
“Oh.”
“What?”
“I thought that you were forgiving me.” Yunho looked at the glass and took a sip. Jaejoong sighed. In reality, he wanted to apologize to Yunho for tonight, but he didn’t know what to say.
Listen, Yunho. About tonight, I’m, I’m sorry.
That was all he had to say, but the words wouldn’t come out. Yunho stared at Jaejoong, looking as his mouth opened and closed repeatedly.
“Jaejoong, are you ok? Or are you imagining what you did earlier to that boy?”
Jaejoong closed his mouth and stared at Yunho.
Oh crap, did I say that out loud? thought Yunho. Looking at Jaejoong, the fires of hell burned in the latter’s eyes.
“What did you just say? How the hell do you have the right to say that to me? After what you did to me!”
“Look, what I did was really bad, Jaejoong, and I’m so sorry I hurt you. But that doesn’t mean that you should whore yourself out like this! First Junki, then that random boy! You’re better then this, Jaejoong. And if you don’t calm it down a bit, you’ll get yourself a bad reputation.”
“If I wanted a lecture, I’d call my mum. And if you’re so sorry, then why are you only apologizing to me now?”
“Because you ran away! What was I supposed to do?”
“You could’ve rung my home, you could’ve asked my family, you could’ve just put in a bit of effort, and found me.”
“I know. I know, I should’ve tried a bit harder, but I was cocky, I was full of myself, and I didn’t care enough.”
“Was?”
“But I care now. I want to make amends.”
“Why did you go through with it anyway?”
Yunho frowned in confusion.
“The bet. And don’t say for the money, cause you didn’t need it.”
Yunho sighed in frustration.
“I don’t really know. I guess cause I figured that you’d be easier then anyone else in the school.”
“I thought that perhaps it was because a small part of you liked me.” Yunho couldn’t meet Jaejoong’s eyes. He didn’t want to lie to Jaejoong anymore.
“I didn’t like you...then. But I kinda do now.”
“Well, yeah, that was the point of inviting you to that party tonight.” He checked his watch. 3.30am. Hmmm. Jaejoong still needed a shower, and Yunho’s eyes were closing due to sleepiness. Deciding he didn’t have the energy to transfer Yunho to his room.
In the shower, Jaejoong thought back to the day he first spoke to Yunho. He remembered how much he’d respected and, yes, loved Yunho. But now, well now he didn’t know what to think. Yunho certainly wasn’t as full of himself anymore, but now he looked down on Jaejoong.
Suddenly a loud banging at the front door awakened him from his thoughts. Thinking of Yunho trying to sleep in the living room, jaejoong jumped out the shower, turned it off, grabbed the nearest towel and wrapped it around himself while he ran to the front door.
It was a terrified Yoochun with a concerned Junsu. Junsu had thought Jaejoong and Changmin’s revenge plot was, to quote Junsu, “pure evil”, and had wanted nothing to do with it.
As soon as the door opened, Yoochun forced his way in, shouting
“Where is he, where’s Yunho? Yunho! YUNHO!!”
“Will you shut the hell up! Yunho’s asleep on the sofa!”
Yoochun turned on Jaejoong
“This whole thing is your fault in the first place!”
“How did you figure that out?” retorted Jaejoong
“If you hadn’t slept around like the slut you are, Yunho wouldn’t being hanging on to life by the last thread!” At this he burst into floods of tears, rocking gently on the balls of his feet.
“For God’s sake Yoochun, I’ve just broken my arm, I’m not dying. And don’t call Jaejoong a slut, alright.”
Jaejoong stared at him. Did Yunho just stand up for him? What was going on? Was Yunho really developing feelings for Jaejoong?
Sorry for the shortness, but I'm thinking of starting a new fic...or maybe I should finish this one first! lol
