On a whole, I'd love to agree with you that we are FORCING our brains to evolve. Unfortunately, I realized that the average human being cannot process the ridiculous amount of information that is thrown at us. The average human being can barely process the amount of information that runs thru their own minds. The human mind my have evolved and enlarged because of the opportunity to learn more things (i.e. how to drive a car, how to work a VCR, making a myspace page). However, being exposed to more things and actually being able to process and utitilize what you've experienced is the difference between knowledge and intelligence. This is the difference between those that have (I'm generalizing here, trust me) been to college and those that choose to just have a trade. College is there to teach you how to think. When you learn a trade, you glean knowledge. When you enter college, you build intelligence. You learn how to utilize knowledge

I think I see what you're saying here. I was really just trying to make the point that, no matter how stupid you think people are...just think how much worse they were 500 years ago. I still say we have to--and do--process a ton more information on a daily basis. Whereas a peasant in the middle ages had to process a very small range of immediate family news, we process local, state, national and international news. Even the non-college-graduates have to process a lot. Even trades are more complex and require more thought. At least that's my experience.
