What are you hoping for? Do you gamble, want shows, night clubs, enjoy spectacles, etc.? Restaurants? Are you on a budget or being expensed? :) I've been a couple of times this year for conventions, etc
( ... )
I've seen both O and Zumanity, and while they're both good, "O" was far better. Though Zumanity was a bit unique, in that it's an "erotic" cirque show (topless in many parts, lots of love/sex themes). Still tasteful and classy, but definitely a different slant on Cirque.
I haven't seen Penn & Teller in Vegas, but c'mon, it's Penn & Teller. :)
MGM is a nicer hotel than TI. The cannons blasting outside your window all night will drive you nuts, I hear. I think the Bellagio fountain shows are nearby TI though, which are worth watching.
Not sure about special veggie restaurants and whatnot, I'm sure they exist. I'd recommend dining and/or drinking at the Wynn though, or Encore. I splurged on a meal at Daniel Bouloud (Wynn), and it was amazing. There's even a top-notch cheese bar with samples, etc. Expensive but really nice.
For O or Bouloud, you may want to make reservations well in advance.
I noticed about weekdays when I was looking at prices. We are staying on a Thursday, so at least that day we get a discount.
I was defintely thinking cirque (love it, even though it is expensive and commerical, i still love it!). I was thinking either O with the water or Zumanity (adult cirque only in vegas, nude acrobats can't be bad!).
We drove over/next to Hoover Dam when I was there several years ago. Quite spectacular, actually. I will look at Red Rock Canyon. We weren't planning on a car, but maybe it is worth a day trip. Thanks!
