Erm... I haz two turkeys, and Lolo REALLY hates celery

Nov 28, 2010 00:17

Yes, TWO turkeys, and my lozateazer is vegetarian. So yeah, I haz TWO turkeys (might have to pawn some off on the trio + one) *sighs*. As we'd gone to Lolo's family's for Thanksgiving, I-as usual-get a small turkey to roast for myself, while Lolo has the rest of her Tofurky roast and we do all the other fixin's over the long weekend so we have leftovers to ( Read more... )

I swear, everyone, no matter how much Kitty claims otherwise, I am not a high-maintenance bitch!

I just really, really hate the flavor (and especially texture) of celery. Usually I pick it out and set it on the side of my plate, but this time there wasn't going to be room on my plate as I ate. So yes, we giggled as I flicked out the celery into the sink.

Kitty doesn't need to make stuffing for me. If it were that much of an issue, I can make my own damn food.

And my issue with Amazon is outside of the fact that I missed out on the deal. I'll get the item eventually. My issue has to do with their customer service. You make it sound like I slept through it.

So... yeah. Gonna go get me some eggnog, watch some 3rd RFTS, and go to bed so I can get up and disappoint my boss again tomorrow.

Pffft! 'Course you're not high maintenance... just uber-busy working retail... and being your boss's go-to peep in the gallery, so of course he hopes high-end sales will happen, but in this economy... not always gonna happen as much as he'd like *sniggles*

And I was just retelling the tale of it finally sinking in how much you hate celery (as we giggled through the sink filling up wif the lil bits of green) *muah*

As we've both have said, a real-live 'brick and mortar' store will always trump an online company... especially in customer service. Look at all the help/advice we got from the (non-chain, local, small business) sewing machine store. *sips moar spiked 'nog*

Actually, I was more thinking about the chain where we bought the sewing machine, and how both we and the woman we spoke to at the fabric cutting table were able to get deals several hours after the sale had ended. It's not hard for stores to make exceptions. Amazon should be the same, have a bit of humanity.

And it's more than go-to peep in the gallery--it's go-to peep, period. That's why I'm now at full-time, while other peeps are working three to five hour shifts. I just take it very seriously, and have the history that makes it so that it's very important to me to do a good job and please my boss. So of course I'm going to panic when I only bring in $200 or so a day.

I noes, you are the one worker (beside his mom, and mebbe three others) who actually DO care about both stores. You ARE the one he praised up and down and over and over the other day for doing most--if not all--the trees so boofully wif lights going right direction, cords hidden, branches properly/fully fluffed, decorated in theme to perfection. Do remember, after the other staff completely dropped the ball on the one prospective buyer of some art... once you got home from all the fairs, YOU took it upon yourself to contact her, and give her your work email, etc... and she came back recently and DID buy more art... all because of you!

(true, you did get sale prices after the sale at fabric chain... but we were the ones who went ahead and dashed clear across the metro area to other store and dug out the machine you wanted, when other employees couldn't even get the name of the machine/model correct during their phone convo when checking if other store had the machine in stock.

I can bond with the celery thing. I only have to smell it to start feeling sick, eating it is out of the question.

See, and I'm that way with rhubarb (long icky story where my mom made me eat a bowl full of the cooked slimy stuff, that did NOT end well), and I knew Lolo didn't 'like' celery, just not to this degree *g*

Why don't you chuck the second turkey in the freezer for Christmas? We don't do Thanksgiving as you know, so turkey here is reserved for Chrimbo! And I've never heard of celery in stuffing before! You Americans! How mad! ;-P I don't like celery either but even worse, I hate sage... so traditional sage and onion stuffing is completely out for me! MY hubby makes the BEST onion and breadcrumbs stuffing and it is delish, if somewhat simple and unadorned.

Glad you had a good turkey day - hope to catch up with you soon! It's been mad around here all weekend though and I still have cards to do... so no promises! ;-)

There is no room in the freezer for the 2nd turkey! Once I roast this one, de-bone, slice, etc I can toss most of the meat into baggies and then freeze.

Now see, sage Lolo does enjoy, and I wish she'd been around more this year to tend our lil herb planters so we woulda had fresh sage and thyme along with the rosemary that's going great guns, then I might not have been tempted to buy the stuffing mix thingy. Ah well, live and learn. *snogs*

We'll catch up sooner or later, love ya!

You must throw other unnecessary things out of freezer (or eat all the ice cream!) and put turkey in! Not sacrilege, is necessary for Christmas joy! I dunno what you guys eat then, but here, Chrimbo ain't complete without turkey! *gobble gobble*

Oh well, I'll pass on her celery to someone who eats it and she can have my share of sage! (Even my Hubby doesn't like celery and he eats most things!)

Knock on my door when you return from wherever you are! ;-)

Our "Turkey Day" and all the upteen leftovers went very well... well some are in the freezer so I haven't had to eat all turkey, all the time *g*

(and yes, from other post/comment, we do have your addy, so do expect a card from the Trio + One and co. *muah*)
