Ugh

I think the hardest thing about the burglary, besides the obvious loss, is that nagging sense that I'm not safe in my own home anymore. And it's not safe to be away from the house, either, lest someone break in again and steal even more. And I keep telling myself it's all just stuff, that I don't need 95% of what I have around me, that I'm a lucky ( Read more... )

Dear Kitty --

Aw, I'm SO sorry to hear about that burglary! I have a rough idea of just how painful must be thinking about "that little shit" who did it -- your personal space HAS been violated!

At least you have the sensitive BF to try to cheer you up. I LOVED the "security" collars for "our furry cuddlesluts." (What a book-title for someday!)

Kisses,
Justine

Thanks. :) I doubt our dogs would be good for a book - they don't do much more than sleep a lot, though their snoring is epic. ;)

I have heard that about burglaries. =\

What you really need is me in your front yard, with a lawnchair and a sword.

Yeah, most of us don't need most of what we have, but you know what? It's not about them taking stuff you don't need, it's about them fucking up your sense of security and taking THAT away from you. Not to mention taking the ring and fucking with your memories of your dad, and bringing all that painful stuff up all over again. *hugs* I am still so pissed on your behalf. I can't imagine the feeling.

I did LOL at the spiked dog collars, though. SO CUTE.

And of course, we get the collars on them and go 'awww, who's a fierce widdle puppy?!?!' so they're prancing around, all proud of themselves. Hilarious. :)

I'll post a picture when I get around to replacing my camera (damnit, I liked my purple digicam...)

But yes, it's just this nagging paranoia, more than ever - the house creaking as it settles, etc and I'm lying wide awake in bed trying to recall if that's a normal noise or something I should be investigating with a bat in the other hand.
