Perhaps the biggest mistake of my life was 4 years ago when I voted for Bush. Before I get hated for this, I went to the poll election thinking that it would benefit me as a college student to have a president who didn't support paying high taxes. This, along with a few things that I support(ed ( Read more... )

I am a Republican and am glad to have not voted for that slimeball back in 2000. Of course being a Texan, I saw the mess he made in Texas and knew he would screw things up as president. Bush is part of the country club Republican set that has hijacked the GOP.
No shame for getting tricked by Karl Rove and his boys. Just don't fall for that kind of crap ever again.

OOps..
I'm sorry if I've offended you in any way in my past posts. I've mentioned some not so nice things about the political figures.
I've always been in the middle of the road with this. I still don't consider myself a Democrat/Liberal, nor a Republican. I'm half and half on the subject. I think that because I'm in school dealing with budget cut crisises, I've tended to lean toward the liberal side as of late.

You haven't offended me love. I am more a fiscal conservative with liberal leanings on social issues: especially in education and the environment.

Yeah, so many Californians (not me, granted, but I overheard these comments!) voted for Ahhnuld because "Wouldn't it be so cool, the Terminnator signing your diploma?" I mean, bah! How idiotic. Because your diploma will mean jack shit with the state of education here nowadays. Bah.

Oh, and I know what you mean about political individualism - lived with a democrat poli-sci mom, went through the debates and everything for every election - city, state, nation - for as long as I can remember. For ages I just hated political ANYTHING - but now I'm far more politically active then many my age, as I would think you (just by knowing / writing about this) are as well. Go Kerry! He's just a Democratic Bush, but at least he's better then what we've got!
