Is it all a big lie?

I am a person who was raised in faith, not necessarily the church. I've been baptised three times (Brethren, Presbyterian, and Catholic) so I'm fairly familiar with a couple of doctrines. I raised my two children in the Catholic faith mixed with protestant Bible school in the summer so they could see that "church" isn't all "stand up, sit down, ( Read more... )

Hehe...I'm a product of the Mass/protestant Bible school era, too. Interesting to see religion down where I am...NO separation of church and state, which makes the families really large and all the other issues that come along with that. What the priest says they take very seriously. To each their own I guess..

Some of these smaller countries can be more dangerous than the larger ones simply because they are so totally under the control of the church. I mean, look at how many wars were started over religion. Good old King Henry didn't like the church law that wouldn't let him divorce his wife, so off with her head and make his own religion. The crusades. Look at Jonestown. Even the current war........we are infidels to the Muslims in Iraq. Yup, organized religion scares the crap out of me. The ultimate joke on everyone would be to find out that when we die.........we're just dead.

But then we wouldn't know it, so it wouldn't matter.

How do you know you even picked the right religion? Maybe we'll all go to hell, and this will happen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImzFdHd70vU
