This entry is simply a question:

Is it possible to love two people at the same time?

Unlike other people who have responded, I don't think two people have to be soulmates to be in love. Nor do I believe that the "I want only you in my life" kind of love is the only love there is. I think there are different levels or depths of love, so I think it is entirely possible for you to love two people at once.

What to do about this love, or whether or not this is a good situation to put oneself in, is entirely dependent on the specific situation.

Wait...I changed my mind, and my answer is simply this:

Humans are ammazingly complex, yet at times wonderfully simple creatures, because of the following.

Everyone who has posted that loving two people is possible has also acknowledged that such loves are either a) different from each other, or b) not "true love".

What I have to say in return is that if these people had a spouse, after being happily married for 1 year or 21 years, suddenly say that they also loved someone else and wanted to hold this person as an equal, these people would spaz.

At least, thats my thoughts right now.

Hey Patrick!! This is Darcie...I got a livejournal. :) I think that while love is mostly an emotion, it is also a choice. You have some choice in who you love. (I know a lot of you will disagree with me). If it wasn't a choice there would be no temptation to cheat. So, yes, I think you can love two people at the same time. Once you commit to one person though and choose to love that one person, you have to be dedicated to them.

I think you need to add one or two more comments to this question...just to make it an even number:-P

If love is blind, then it is no wonder it is a rare emotion. Stumbling through life is never easy.
