such as they are. she does not like the camera at all.  the only one in which you can see her face, notice that she is staring at the camera as if it is evil.  this is always her look when i take out the camera, lol.  i wanted to get one with my hand so you could see just how tiny she is, but that hasn't happened yet.  maybe this weekend, with any ( Read more... )

She is adorable! So cute and fuzzy. She doesn't look any bigger than the stuffed animals. I hope you have many, happy years together! ♥

She's charming. I am sometimes guilty of working out how many years it could be until we can have a kitten again even though I dearly love Yasmin (who is the one who hates kittens). In fact Yasmin is joint most precious of all the cats I've had in a long lifetime, with one tabby-and-white male after whom Son Two is named (not many people name their baby after a sadly missed cat) and the beautiful dark tortoiseshell Naomi, whom we bottle-raised from 2 weeks.

i can't imagine bottle-raising a kitten. this is the first kitten i've had since i was a teenager, so that's a very long time. i'm still a little shell-shocked in some ways, lol. and i know that doing that sort of math does not mean you love that kitty any less. i have to confess that when i think that i could have this little creature for as long as 20 years, it's a bit overwhelming. it is a sweetie, when it's not trying to eat my ankles ...

p.s. is the kitty in your icon one of yours?

It's not so much the bottle-feeding, as the fact that you have to stimulate the other end with a cotton bud for anything to exit, if you see what I mean. At that age, the mother is meant to lick them. It was brilliant when Naomi (who was the youngest of the orphaned siblings) worked out how to use a litter tray and then taught her brothers and sisters.

yeah, this one is so little and i hadn't seen any poo and thought i might have to do that, so even though i'm not that happy that she poos anywhere but in the litter box, at least she goes on her own, lol. i do kind of wish there were another kitty here to teach her about the litter box, but hopefully we'll figure that out before too long ...

and i'm actually pretty sure this one will end up being a 'he' after all. my sister is going to check today and provide confirmation, lol.
