Day 7: Energize Me Smoothie
1 pear
½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup spinach
1-inch piece ginger root
1 tbsp hemp or chia seeds
1 cup coconut water or water

Health Benefits
This smoothie is full of easy to digest carbohydrates that will leave you feeling energized. The fibre content of this smoothie will slow the release of those carbohydrates into your bloodstream, helping you to keep your energy levels stable until your next meal. It is also rich in vitamins and minerals. While we do not use vitamins and minerals directly for energy, they are used in energy production processes so in a roundabout way they do help to energize you.

this smoothie was pretty tasty.  i think i used a little too much spinach, so i couldn't taste the pear as much as if i hadn't gone a little overboard with that.  it's because i have a bit too much spinach at the moment - i haven't used as much as usual since i've been doing the challenge and using more other green vegetables - and i don't want it to go bad.  ... i wish i'd done the review this morning, lol.  i know i enjoyed it, but i'm too tired to remember much about it.  sorry.  to make it up to you, i'm posting this bonus pear smoothie recipe - can't recall if i posted it when i had it before, but it's delicious, and it has basil, so yeah, it beats today's in my book.

Pear Basil Anti-inflammatory Smoothie
1-2 pears, cored
1 handful of basil
1 rib of celery
1 cup of water or coconut water

in other news, i am for the moment done with the editing.  waiting for some other things to turn up in my inbox, but for now, i'm done and can focus on cleaning the apartment a bit.  i have friday, saturday evening, sunday, and monday evening.  we'll see what i manage to get done.  btw, i'm so excited!  have i mentioned that lately?  lol.
